✨ Let’s Talk About Hirsutism in Women ✨
Hirsutism is the growth of coarse, dark hair in areas where women typically have finer hair—such as the chin, upper lip, chest, stomach, back, or inner thighs.
This condition is often connected to higher androgen levels or increased sensitivity to these hormones. Possible causes include:
• Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS)
• Hormonal changes or imbalances
• Menopause
• Certain medications
• Adrenal or thyroid conditions
• Genetics
Hirsutism is not caused by poor hygiene, and it is nothing to be ashamed of. While professional waxing can help manage unwanted hair and leave the skin smoother, it does not treat the underlying cause.
If the hair growth appears suddenly, becomes excessive, or occurs with irregular periods, severe acne, scalp hair thinning, a deeper voice, or unexplained weight changes, speak with a healthcare provider. These symptoms may need a medical evaluation.
