This post is meant to be HELPFUL—but I need to be very blunt because cosmetic surgery is SERIOUS.

People lose their lives behind elective surgery. And honestly, this isn’t just about plastic surgery. These are basic things we should be paying attention to as ADULTS.

At minimum, stay on top of your routine healthcare:

• Annual physical/checkup
• Routine labs as recommended by your healthcare provider
• GYN care, Pap testing and mammograms when appropriate for you
• Any additional screenings recommended based on your age, health history and risk factors

But beyond getting checked, you should actually KNOW some of your normal numbers.

Do you know what your blood pressure typically runs?

Not “my blood pressure is usually good.”

What is the ACTUAL NUMBER?

Do you know what your hemoglobin typically runs?

Do you know your A1C or blood sugar status?

Do you have copies of your recent lab results?

These things MATTER.

After surgery, your vitals and labs can tell us a lot—but numbers are much more meaningful when your medical team knows what is normal FOR YOU.

A blood pressure, heart rate, hemoglobin level, etc. isn’t just a random number. Changes from your usual baseline can provide important information about what may be happening with your body and whether further medical evaluation is needed.

And PLEASE understand: you and your post-op caregiver need to work together.

Your caregiver can observe you, monitor your vitals, help you follow your surgeon’s instructions and recognize when something doesn’t look right—but they cannot give an accurate picture of what has changed if neither of you knows where you STARTED.

If you have an upcoming surgery, START GATHERING THIS INFORMATION NOW.

Know your baseline.
Keep copies of your recent labs.
Know your medications and dosages.
Know your medical history.
Know your allergies.
Know your surgeon’s emergency instructions and contact information.
And be COMPLETELY HONEST about your health history.

This is YOUR BODY. Your health information should not be a mystery to you.

Preparation for surgery is more than buying a faja, booking massages and packing a suitcase.

SURGERY IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.

There is ZERO excuse for not giving every part of this process your absolute, undivided attention — from researching and choosing your surgeon to selecting and booking your post-op care.

These are decisions involving your health, safety, recovery, finances, and overall surgical experience. They should never be rushed, skimmed through, or handled carelessly.

If you are completing an inquiry form and do not have the time to accurately, thoroughly, and truthfully answer the questions being asked, then that is not the right time to complete it. Come back to it when you can give it the attention it deserves.

Waiting until days before check-in to disclose important information, correct inaccurate answers, or mention circumstances that should have been communicated during the inquiry process is unacceptable.

And when that happens, there has to be some willingness to compromise. Your post-op provider cannot always rearrange established plans, policies, staffing, transportation, accommodations, or other clients at the last minute because information was not provided accurately from the beginning.

If you overlooked something, rushed through the process, or failed to disclose something important, own that. Accountability matters.

We are responsible for providing the service and care we promised.

You are responsible for providing us with the accurate information we need to do that safely and properly.

Surgery is not the time for assumptions, shortcuts, or incomplete communication.

BE THOROUGH. BE TRUTHFUL. ASK QUESTIONS. READ EVERYTHING.
Your recovery begins long before surgery day.

MOVING FORWARD — IMPORTANT BOOKING UPDATE

After careful consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to no longer accept bookings from individuals seeking alternative accommodations after being scammed, losing funds, or experiencing a significant financial loss with another recovery home, caregiver, or company.

Unfortunately, I’ve consistently found that these situations can carry over into the new booking. There may be expectations for additional discounts, reduced pricing, refunds, or other financial accommodations in an effort to offset money that was lost elsewhere.

While I genuinely sympathize with anyone who has experienced a financial loss, Barbie’s Dolls Concierge cannot absorb or compensate for losses caused by another business.

For that reason, I will no longer accept bookings under these circumstances.

I sincerely apologize to anyone this policy may affect. Please research carefully, ask questions, verify who you are doing business with, and choose wisely from the beginning.

Protect your money. Protect your recovery. Choose wisely. 🤍

Over the six years I’ve been in this industry, I’ve obviously made friends within the industry. Some are still friends, and some… not so much.

But let me make ONE thing very clear:

I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HOW ANOTHER RECOVERY HOME RUNS THEIR HOME. PERIOD.

Right, wrong, or indifferent—how I run my home is how I run MY home, and how someone else runs theirs is THEIR BUSINESS.

Outside of calling out scammers, I mind the business that pays ME.

So fair warning: if you’re going to put my name in something, make sure what you’re saying is FACTUAL, can be PROVEN, and ACTUALLY INVOLVES ME.

Do not attach my name or my business to another recovery home’s policies, practices, decisions, drama, or operations simply because I know—or once knew—the owner.

Moving forward, I will take false and defamatory statements involving me or my business seriously and pursue the legal remedies available to me.

And since some people seem to think social media gives them immunity from real-world consequences… it does not.

Please govern yourselves accordingly. I have a business to run. 💅🏽
