Fall hit hard this year. Did you notice?

Almost as if nature understands our imposed calendar of events, we went from warm summer walks in the evening to chilly streets full of school buses and backpacks.

Oddly, for being a complete sun worshipper, I’m welcoming the shift. It’s time to sow more clover that will emerge in the spring. Time to turn inward a bit. To formulate spiced soaps and holiday delights for our upcoming gifting season. To get ready to welcome you all into the H studio for our holiday party.

But I’m not ready to let go of these.

LOZEN and HATHOR arrived as limited-edition scents, but I’m not quite sure I want to live without them. And I know many of you feel that too.

HATHOR is sensual and deep. Honestly, one of the sexiest scents I’ve ever experienced. Sandalwood, vanilla, cardamom.

LOZEN is androgynous and woody, with the brightness of palo santo, lime and Peru balsam.

They’re perfect for every season. So we decided to make another large batch of each. They’re marrying and aging now, and will be ready once we’re solidly into fall.

Nature knows we need citrus in winter. It knows we need the season to turn inward so we can bloom again in spring.

And H knows you need LOZEN and HATHOR.

Met with Anna Abel Studio today and was reminded of a few very important things:

1. Analogue is still the coolest.
2. Skincare, much like fashion, is best as a capsule.
3. Artists speak the same language.
4. Being a mother and a business owner is the work of legends.
5. My work is built on real relationships. With farmers, customers, designers, and fellow artists. Every part of H is about connection.

I’ve been in the studio dreaming in lilac. I’ve wanted to give THE CREAM this hue for over a year, and yesterday I finally began experimenting.

It’s still very much in the works, but just look at this beauty. I can’t wait to share where this goes. 💜

There have been beautiful years, hard years, expensive mistakes, fear, friendships, growth, and a whole lot more figuring-it-out-as-I-go than I’d probably like to admit.

I’m proud of H. I’m grateful for H. And I’m endlessly grateful for the people who have made it possible for me to keep doing this.

Thank you for buying the things I make, telling your friends, sending me notes, trusting us with your skin, and letting H become a part of your lives. So many of you have been here for years. Some of you have become dear friends.

What a strange, beautiful thing we’ve made together.
