Fearfully and Wonderfully Made Photography

My name is Sharra and I live in the beautiful bluff country of southeastern Minnesota. My husband is a Lutheran pastor here in a rural congregation and we have three children (who are the main subjects in my photography!)

I've spent the last 11 years at home being mom, wife, cook, cleaning lady, household organizer, nurse, therapist, chauffeur and many other jobs. Raising a child with special needs is extremely difficult and taxing on the entire family, but especially the mom. As moms we feel so much pressure to research, make appointments, drive to therapy, keep track of goals, deal with daily issues... the list is endless. Several months ago, I was performing one of my many jobs (chauffeur) while driving through the gorgeous farmlands on our way home. I suddenly had a realization that made I believe came from God. I was finding that most of my days were dealing with one struggle after another and I was finding very little joy. But every once in a while... there is boundless joy and laughter. These are the fleeting moments that I long to capture. I want to show the true personalities and connection between my subjects. This art is an amazing discovery and I truly feel honored to have figured out my other callin. I learn more and more every single day and I am loving every moment of it!
