A radically inclusive healing space. Come as you are. Healing begins with safety. Living rooms are often the center of the home. It is a place for growing.

The place where we socialize, find solitude, relax and make memories. Living rooms are often a reflection of the people who use them. Living rooms can also hold trauma memories for those who grew up in homes where there was more "surviving" than "living." The Living Room Wellness Center is a place where healing happens. Most of all, it is a place where people can find themselves "living" again. Th

We don't believe healing happens through awkward silence alone.

It doesn't happen by pretending you're "totally over it" while your body clearly disagrees.

It doesn't happen from another self-help book collecting dust on the nightstand, or a green juice, or one more deep breath in through the nose.

Real healing is uncomfortable.

It's saying the thing you've rehearsed a hundred times in the shower and never actually said out loud.

It's crying in a room that isn't your car.

It's someone asking "how are you, really" and actually waiting for the answer.

That's the work.
That's what we do here.
Bring the mess, the weight you're tired of carrying, the thing(s) you keep almost-texting someone about at 2am.

We'll sit with you in it, no judgment, until it starts to make sense.

Meet Tara Garrity, LCSW

At The Living Room, we believe therapy should feel like a place where you can finally exhale, and that's exactly the space Tara creates for her clients.

Tara is a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults navigating identity, emotional well-being, and life's big transitions. She has a particular passion for supporting the LGBTQ+ community, especially transgender and gender-expansive individuals, as well as anyone working through anxiety, depression, trauma, or a season of change.

Her approach is collaborative and strengths-based, meeting you exactly where you are. Drawing on CBT, EMDR, and Brainspotting, Tara tailors each session to your goals and your story.

Judgment never enters the room; partnership does.

With over a decade of clinical experience and a career built around advocating for marginalized communities, Tara brings both deep expertise and genuine care to the room.

And yes, there's usually some humor along the way too.

If you're ready for a therapist who sees you fully and walks alongside you, Tara is now accepting new clients.

Seriously.
Leave the highlight reel at the door.
We don't need the "actually things have been GREAT" version, the perfectly-worded trauma summary, or the "I've been doing so well" performance you trot out because you feel guilty using your session to just... fall apart a little.

Cry ugly.
Show up in your sweatpants with a messy hair bun.
Say the thing you've never said out loud because you're worried it sounds unhinged.
Ramble.
Contradict yourself.

Just exist.

Your therapist isn't grading you. There's no gold star for "best client" (though, we can give you one for just showing up, if you'd like).

The whole point is that you get to stop managing everyone's experience of you... including ours.

Come as you are.
That's not just a nice tagline here.
It's the job.

No blank clinical stares.
No frantic scribbling every time you say something 'interesting.'
No awkward silences while we jot down notes and leave you wondering what you just revealed about your childhood.

At The Living Room Wellness, therapy actually feels like a conversation... because it is one.

We're present, we're paying attention to you, not our pen, and yeah, we might even laugh with you along the way. Real talk, real connection, zero notepad-staring guaranteed.

At The Living Room, we believe healing happens in a space that's radically safe β€” where you're seen, supported, and free to show up exactly as you are.

No masks, no performing okay-ness.
Just room to actually be.

Julie Batson, LCSW brings that same commitment to her work with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and grief. Her approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in authenticity.. because real healing doesn't happen when you're only showing people the parts of yourself you think they can handle.

If you've been carrying more than you can hold alone, this is your sign to reach out. Come as you are.
We're here for it.

Every audience teaches me something.

Whether I’m working with nonprofit leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, or community organizations, my goal remains the same:
To create spaces where people can learn honestly, engage respectfully, and leave with practical tools they can actually use.

Thank you to every organization that trusts Kay R Consulting.

Nobody actually shows up to therapy with their life in a neat little folder. You show up mid-week, mid-crisis, or just mid-Tuesday, wondering why you feel the way you feel, and that's completely fine. We're not grading you on preparedness.

At The Living Room, we care a lot more about how you're doing than how tidy your paperwork is. Forgot to fill something out? Wrote "Idk, everything?" in the box that asked what brought you in? Totally normal. Therapy works best when you bring your actual self - messy thoughts, half-finished sentences, and all - not a polished version you think you're supposed to present.

So however you're walking in today: tired, overwhelmed, or just curious what this whole thing is about.. you're already doing it right.

Let's be honest, nobody wants to talk about their inner world in a room that feels like a DMV waiting area.

At The Living Room, we believe good therapy doesn't have to come with a stiff couch, a ticking clock, and a therapist nodding silently while you wonder if you're "doing it right." (You are. There's no wrong way to be a person figuring things out.)

Our therapists bring real expertise, but also real warmth. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship stuff, or just that nagging feeling that something's off and you can't quite name it, you deserve a space that feels less like an appointment and more like an exhale.

Evidence-based doesn't have to mean personality-free. Research-backed care and a real, human connection aren't mutually exclusive.. you can have both. Our therapists bring proven approaches to the table, but they show up as themselves, not as a script.
