A simple walk to visit our new bull on the farm turned into one of those moments I wish I could bottle up forever.

Watching her run ahead, hearing her little voice, holding her hand along the way… these are the moments that remind me how quickly time is passing.

Growing up is bittersweet, but what a gift it is to watch her become exactly who God created her to be.

My heart aches over stories like this.

I believe every child is fearfully and wonderfully made, including those with Down syndrome. Too often, parents are told to focus on the challenges, the appointments, the uncertainties, and the sacrifices. What can get lost in those conversations is the immeasurable joy, love, purpose, and beauty that these children bring into the lives of their families and everyone around them.

The parents have been lied to. Satan is the father of lies.

This is a call to prayer.

Prayer for the baby whose life was lost.

Prayer for the parents, who were faced with a heartbreaking decision and now must live with its consequences.

Prayer that hearts would be healed, burdens lifted, and truth revealed.

And prayer that our society would do a better job of supporting families and celebrating the inherent worth of every human life, regardless of diagnosis or ability.

Every life has value. Every life is worthy of love. And every child deserves to be seen as more than a list of potential challenges.

Lord, bring healing where there is grief, hope where there is despair, and compassion where there is hurt.
