Open Up Your Chest & Shoulders with this Wall Stretch 🧘♀️
If you're looking to improve your posture and relieve upper body tension, this gentle wall exercise is a fantastic addition to your practice! This movement specifically helps to open up the armpit and chest area, encourages a more upright posture, and can even change the way your shoulders fit into their sockets.
What You'll Need:
A bolster, a thick blanket, or a towel.
How to Do It:
Place your bolster or folded towel against the wall behind your lower back to ensure you don't experience any low back pain or tension.
Step your feet a little bit away from the wall, making sure the arches of your feet are "smiling" at each other.
Place your fingertips against the wall, lift your chest, and actively lower your shoulders.
Slowly begin to slide your arms up the wall.
As you slide your arms up, focus on lowering your shoulder blades down your back.
Continue sliding your arms up and lowering your shoulder blades, going only as high as you can without any pain to find your personal maximum stretch.
Once at the top, hold the stretch, keep breathing, and if it feels comfortable, you can gently look up and back.
When you are ready, slowly slide your arms back down the wall to your starting position.
A Quick Reminder on Form:
Make sure to breathe continuously throughout the entire movement. If your arms don't go all the way up the first time, don't "finagle" or twist your body to force them higher. Just slide up and down to the level you can comfortably manage—eventually, with consistent practice, your range of motion will improve!

A tiny organ in our chest cavity could be the key to regulating inflammation as we age, according to new research in mice.
The thymus is nestled between our lungs and is roughly the size of a dried apricot. It helps our bodies produce pathogen-fighting immune cells called T cells, particularly in childhood. After puberty, it shrinks—and scientists long thought its role in our immune system likely shrank, too. But its job may not end there at all: a hormone secreted by the thymus called thymulin appears to clamp down on age-related inflammation in older mice. http://spklr.io/6000EP278
