Misty recently had the pleasure of giving Penn State Football Strength & Conditioning Coach Lucas White a fresh cut before the season opener. Lucas is not only dedicated to helping student athletes perform at their highest level, but he’s also an incredibly kind and genuine person.

Today marks his first game with the program, and we’re excited to see all the hard work from the coaching staff and players come together on the field.

The training provided valuable tools to recognize warning signs, start difficult conversations, and connect individuals with the help they need.

As business owners and community members, we interact with people every day, and having the knowledge and confidence to support someone who may be struggling is incredibly important.

I’m proud to now be QPR certified and grateful to be part of a community that prioritizes mental health, compassion, and connection.

Last night was something special.

Our Grand Opening was more than a celebration of a new business it was a celebration of community, connection, and the incredible people who helped bring The Whiskey Barber Salon to life.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Ladies Cassie, Kayleen, Misty, and Tatiana. Your hard work, dedication, and belief in this vision have helped create something truly meaningful.

When I opened The Whiskey Barber Salon, my goal was never just to provide great haircuts and grooming services. I wanted to create a place where people feel welcomed, respected, and valued. A place where conversations happen naturally, friendships are built, and everyone leaves feeling a little better than when they walked in.

One of the highlights of the evening was announcing the Jana Marie Foundation as our official nonprofit partner. Their commitment to mental health awareness, education, and support aligns perfectly with what we believe: community matters, connection matters, and people matter.

Every day, we are reminded that wellness goes far beyond appearance. Whether it’s sharing a conversation, supporting one another through challenges, getting outdoors, staying active, or simply taking the time to connect, those moments have the power to change lives.

We are also grateful to be part of Downtown State College and to work alongside organizations that strengthen our community, including the Jana Marie Foundation, Downtown State College Improvement District, Penn State, the Smeal College of Business, and the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County.
