No lightener necessary on her virgin hair. This color was achieved using permanent color incubated in foils. I love when I have the opportunity to foil with permanent color as opposed to lightener. There is the lack of that “raw” canvas with this method that a lightener provides which many times we must tone in the second process.

Wet hair can be deceiving especially when it comes to blonde. It’s necessary to see the true hair canvas to move onto the next process. Assuming while the hair is still wet will leave you with inconsistent results and you could wind up missing your mark.

I am Nicole Cannilla with YOOR and I am part of The YOORKROO Education Team. We will be demonstrating education geared towards color, haircutting, hairstyling, and product knowledge. My work and educational style has a scientific and artistic approach. My own style reflects simple femininity but that doesn’t limit the style I create for each client’s image, whether it’s business professional, sophisticated, sexy chic, trendy or avant-garde.

I fell in love with hairstyling at an early age and began working as an assistant at the age of 16. In 2006 at the age of 24 I was privileged to have my first business experience with a business partner for 6 1/2 years. That laid the foundation for things to come, followed by owning my own salon and also renting a chair from my first mentor from the beginning of my career.

Today I am the proud owner of the studio Serendipity Salon within Sola Salons in Staten Island, New York. This gives me the ability to own my own business with less responsibility and the freedom to freelance on location and continue to grow my passion for the hair industry. This has driven me to focus on strengthening my knowledge by attending many extended classes which led to my interest in becoming a color specialist and hair educator.

Working with YOOR I have been extensively learning a different aporoach to color under the mentoring of Ray Brumfield . I’ve also had the honor this year to have been working alongside my talented teammate Brooke LeMasters as well as having Beth Minardi mentor me in all areas as a colorist, business professional, and educator.
My goal as an educator and artist is to ignite the passion and creative curiosity in those that learn from me to develop their own artistic style. As stylists YOOR the professional. This is YOOR integrity. YOOR image is art.
