If I had a dollar for every time a potential client asked me if they need to come with their hair already shampooed…

That alone tells you how bad things have gotten in this industry.

When she originally found us online, she wanted a sew-in with color to blend her natural hair.

She’s about 85% grey with blonde ends.

When she arrived, we did a consultation and that’s where everything changed.

Her previous stylist had bleached her hair and installed K-Tips that were not professionally done. After examining her hair density and condition, I knew immediately she was not a K-Tip candidate. She also wanted a leave-out sew-in, but her hair was too thin to properly cover and blend.

And here’s the part a lot of stylists skip…

I could have done what she asked for.
But it wouldn’t have looked right.
It wouldn’t have lasted.
And she wouldn’t have felt confident.

So we pivoted.

We chose a wig.

The wig gave her full coverage, protected her natural hair, and will actually allow her hair to grow and recover properly.
