SUN DAMAGE AND MELASMA FORMATION

Sun damage can be one of the most prominent reasons facial
aging advances. Common areas of brown ‘patches’ appearing
on the face can result from too much melanin production
(termed melasma) following excessive sun exposure resulting in
unnatural facial discoloration.
Sun damage also exposes facial tissues to the harsh damages
of ultraviolet (UV) light resulting in a rapid loss in skin elasticity
and decreased ability to produce collagen.
Treatment with PRF and microneedling can bring substantial
improvements in skin texture and facial aging caused by sun
damage. Melasma formation is best treated with lasers and/or
certain pigment correction serums utilized at The Strongsville

Esthetics. In such cases, a consultation is required to determine
which approach will be best to treat your own skin depending
on the severity of your condition and skin type.

HOW DOES FOTONA LASER WORK?

Depending on procedure type, Fotona Laser can do treatments of deep tissue or superficial lesion.
For deep tissue treatments Laser light is capable of penetrating deeper into the skin to selectively target collagen formation within many skin depths and layers. The thermal energy of the laser heats the tissue causes long-lasting collagen formation when utilized at specific protocols.
For superficial lesion the laser wavelength targets the uppermost layer of skin, enabling extremely precise, layer-by-layer ablation of the upper-most skin layer (the epidermis). It is the perfect tool for mole removal, tissue tag removal, age spot removal and any type of surface scare. The energy of the laser is absorbed by the water content in the skin cells and the tissue can be vaporized an a painless procedure. This causes the treated skin to shrink and stimulate the production of new collagen in the dermis.
