Celebrating this beauty and her baby this past weekend was a complete dream. The importance of staying safe and getting tested to see your pod was so great for my mental health! Thank you Candice for being such a magical human... you really are the brightest light and I love being with youšāØ

August 7th, 2019 we lost my grandfather Dale Christison at the age of 95. Heās the only grandfather Iāve ever known and I feel blessed to have had this man in my life as long as he was. He was an amazing father to 5 children, grandfather, husband, teacher, coach, woodworker, and WWII veteran. My grandpa was a good hardworking man who I genuinely enjoyed being around. Every time I saw him, he would say āhello dearā with a grin on his face and a bit of a chuckle. Something about that would always warm my heart..
My grandpa passed away one month to the day as we countdown to and my wedding and planning has felt like a decent distraction over the last few days. Itās also taken me some time to collect my thoughts and really sit down to process my feelings. At first, the immediate thought is ābut I didnāt get to say goodbyeā OR āI should have driven to see him more oftenā. The truth is, life gets in the way and itās impossible to be everywhere you need to be at all times. What I do know, is that everytime I would see my grandpa, I felt present. I never knew if it would be the last time. So I forgave myself for not being ābetterā but it is also a great reminder to live in the moment and cherish the loved ones around you.
What Iāve also gathered is that Iāve now experienced loss with people of all different ages. People who mean the world to me in very different ways. No matter the circumstance, it still hurts. No matter how old someone may be or however prepared you are because of their age, itās still shocking. Itās painful to think about never hearing that āhello dearā again and to think how holidays will have an empty space without a person you love. Itās a void that can never be filled with the presence of another, because that space was for reserved for this āloved oneā. I will miss you my dear grandpa and think of you often. Love you so very much.
