Blessed Creek Summer Solstice Gift Box
Just in time for the Summer Solstice!
Every year, the Solstice Gift Box takes on a life of its own, and I never quite know where the inspiration will lead. This year's collection celebrates the sweetness of summer with fruit-inspired favorites, complemented by a touch of herbs and a little midsummer magic.
Inside you'll find:
Strawberry Body Powder – light, refreshing, and perfect for warm summer days
Orange Glow Body Butter Bar – rich nourishment with a bright citrus touch
Don't Bug Me Insect Deterrent – because summer adventures should be enjoyed bite-free
French Toast Oolong Sun Tea – add lemon and sweetener if desired. It makes at least a half-gallon. Serve over plenty of ice.
Persimmon Bar Soap – a beautiful seasonal cleanse
Bamboo Body & Facial Scrub – gentle yet effective (a little goes a very long way!)
Coffee Under Eye Serum – a soothing addition to your self-care routine
A Fun Firestarter – because every solstice celebration deserves a spark
Safe Body Glitter – for a touch of summer shimmer and fun
Also included is a 4-page Summer Solstice Guide filled with ideas for:
Making the most of the year's longest days (15 hours and 14 minutes of daylight!)
Seasonal self-care rituals
Celebrating your accomplishments
Wellness and social connection
Reflection on the year so far and setting intentions for the months ahead
This box makes a wonderful gift for someone special—or a well-deserved treat for yourself.
I can picture friends gathering outdoors on a warm summer evening, sharing fresh food, cool drinks, laughter, and a glowing fire or candlelight. Or perhaps a quiet celebration at home, windows open, a gentle breeze drifting through, and a moment to pause and appreciate the season's abundance.
Celebrate the light. Celebrate the season. Celebrate yourself.
I have 4 boxes left, and that’s it. https://www.blessedcreek.com/shop/sets-and-gifts/summer-solstice-box/?preview_id=1249&preview_nonce=9c4292a0de&_thumbnail_id=15147&preview=true

Long before modern shampoo lined our shower shelves, humans somehow managed to keep their hair clean without sulfates, silicones, or commercials telling them they had "unhappy hair."
So, what did they use?
Soapwort—a flowering plant rich in natural cleansing saponins
Egg yolks—because apparently breakfast and beauty once shared a bowl
like rhassoul and bentonite to absorb oil and dirt
Herbal rinses made from rosemary, nettle, chamomile, and lavender
Rice water to soften and condition hair
Rye flour mixed into a cleansing paste
Apple cider vinegar to add shine and balance the scalp
And yes... some people even used ashes and lye soap. Effective? Usually. Luxurious? Not exactly.
The word "shampoo" actually comes from the Hindi word chāmpo, meaning "to massage." Early liquid shampoos began appearing in the late 1800s, but it wasn't until the 1930s that modern liquid shampoos became widely available as synthetic detergents replaced traditional soap-based cleansers.
Shampoo bars and Snydet bars have been around in various forms for centuries, but they experienced a resurgence in recent decades as people sought simpler ingredients and less plastic waste.
Why choose a shampoo bar?
Less plastic packaging
More eco-friendly Travel friendly—no leaks or TSA drama
Highly concentrated with little or no added water
Long-lasting—often replacing multiple bottles of shampoo
Often crafted with fewer unnecessary ingredients.
Turns out that our ancestors may have been onto something. They relied on herbs, plants, and simple ingredients—and somehow survived without a single bottle of "Ocean Breeze Coconut Water Volume Enhancer."
A Better Shower Experience
There’s something delightfully old-fashioned about lathering with a beautiful shampoo bar, like bringing a bit of apothecary magic into your daily routine. And shampoo bars can also be used to cleanse your body.
Blessed Creek shampoo bars embrace this tradition with thoughtfully chosen ingredients, pure essential oils, and plastic-free simplicity—because caring for your hair shouldn’t come at the expense of the earth.
Blessed Creek Shampoo Bars
• Zero Deposit Formula: Specially formulated to wash away oils and impurities without leaving a heavy, gummy, or waxy film.
• Clean Ingredients: Vegan, cruelty-free, and crafted without synthetic fragrances, parabens, or sulfates.
• Travel-Friendly & Sustainable: Concentrated solid bars eliminate the need for plastic bottles and can last significantly longer than traditional liquid shampoo.
For the most effective wash, lightly rub the wet bar directly onto your scalp to build a crazy rich lather before massaging and rinsing.

The bugs are back… but so is Blessed Creek’s DON’T BUG ME! We are now fully restocked, including the 1-oz travel size.
Because camping, gardening, bonfires, porch sitting, and evening walks should NOT include donating blood to the mosquito population. 😅
Our well-loved herbal insect deterrent is handcrafted in small batches with:
Local witch hazel, Aloe, Citronella, Lemon eucalyptus, Orange, Rosemary, Tea tree, Lemongrass, Lavender, Peppermint, Cedarwood, and Geranium. You may need to reapply more often than the less safe brands out there, but safety is worth it!
This refreshing blend smells amazing to humans while helping encourage bugs to reconsider their life choices. 😉
✔ Safe for everyday outdoor adventures
✔ Herbal-based and family-friendly
✔ Long-time customer favorite
✔ Farmer’s market tested and loved
Nature is wonderful. Mosquitoes are not. 😂

Blessed Creek's very popular Don’t Bug Me spray combines a powerful blend of traditionally used insect-repelling essential oils—including citronella, peppermint, rosemary, tea tree, lavender, cedarwood, geranium, and lemon eucalyptus—in a soothing witch hazel and aloe base. These aromatic plant oils help confuse and deter insects like mosquitoes, gnats, ticks, and mayflies by overwhelming the scent signals they use to locate people.
It offers a more pleasant, skin-friendly alternative to heavy chemical sprays while still providing strong everyday outdoor protection. The combination of refreshing herbal oils, moisturizing ingredients, and a clean scent makes it comfortable to wear regularly, especially for gardening, markets, hiking, and summer evenings outdoors. https://www.blessedcreek.com/shop/room-sprays/dont-bug-me-insect-repellant/
I recently found a great local company located in East Hampton, Connecticut, that harvests and makes witch hazel. I am excited to now be using American Distilling's witch hazel in my products,
And now to play with AI a little....
