Smaller Appetite, Bigger Boundaries. This is not medical advice, just my own personal experience on a GLP-1

02/18/2026

… they help people get healthier.

They were literally made for blood sugar control, so they help regulate insulin, stabilize glucose, and lower A1C. Some even have proven heart protection benefits and can reduce inflammation in the body.

So yeah, you might see weight loss on the outside. But inside? Better metabolic health, improved hormone regulation, and lower long-term health risks.

Funny how people love to judge the visible results but ignore the medical ones

Nobody warned me that I’d go from “I could eat” to “I physically cannot” in two bites. The switch flips fast. It’s not willpower, it’s not discipline — it’s chemistry doing what it’s supposed to do. Learning to trust that full feeling instead of pushing past it has been the wildest part of this journey.

Two bites in and my GLP-1 said we’re clocking out.

I want to be really honest about something, because I think it needs to be said more often.

A GLP-1 journey, just like any weight loss journey is not linear. It isn’t a straight line down. It isn’t perfect weekly weigh-ins or constant progress photos. Some weeks the scale goes up instead of down. Some days you look in the mirror and don’t recognize the person staring back at you. And some days… you are so tired of trying that giving up feels easier than continuing.

There are moments where you’re doing “everything right” and still feel like you’re failing. Where your clothes fit differently from one day to the next. Where the excitement you started with turns into frustration, doubt, and questioning whether this is even worth it.

And then there’s the hardest part: doing it without support. Hearing opinions you didn’t ask for. Feeling judged for choosing medication. Feeling like you have to justify your health, your body, or your decisions to people who don’t live in your skin. That can be incredibly isolating.

But here’s the truth I keep reminding myself of …progress doesn’t always look like the scale going down. Sometimes progress is showing up again after a hard week. Sometimes it’s choosing not to quit when you’re discouraged. Sometimes it’s advocating for yourself, adjusting your plan with your doctor, and trusting that your body is not broken… it’s learning.

This journey is about healing your relationship with food, your body, and yourself. It’s about sustainability, not speed. It’s about grace on the days you feel strong and the days you feel defeated.

If you’re on a GLP-1 or any weight loss journey and you’re struggling right now, you’re not behind. You’re not failing. You’re human. Keep going — even when it’s messy, even when it’s slow, even when no one is cheering. You are still moving forward, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it. 💚

Protein check-in 🥚🍓☕
If getting your protein in feels harder than it needs to be, here are some easy, no-stress ideas I actually use:

• Protein shake + espresso → quick caffeine + about 30g protein = elite combo
• Protein pancakes or waffles (because breakfast should still feel fun)
• Greek yogurt with fresh fruit + protein granola
• Breakfast bowl with eggs + chicken sausage
• Hard-boiled eggs with everything bagel seasoning (simple but undefeated)
• Buffalo chicken lettuce wraps for an easy lunch or dinner win
• Protein bites – Wholly Balls churro flavor are my favorite ready-made grab
• Charcuterie-style snack packs (meat, cheese, nuts, something crunchy)

Protein doesn’t have to be complicated or boring. Little swaps, easy adds, and realistic choices go a long way.

❄️ GLP-1 Snow Day Edition: Movement Still Counts ❄️

Just because it’s freezing cold and snowed in doesn’t mean your body has to be in hibernation mode 🐻

Yesterday’s “workout” looked a little different — I pulled my daughter through the neighborhood in an inner tube. We only made it about one lap, but between the snow drifts (some of them literally waist-deep 😅), and her flopping in the tube, that was NO joke. My legs and arms felt it immediately.

On top of that, I’ve been tackling laundry and purging closets, which means I’ve basically been running the stairs nonstop. Is it glamorous? No. Is it movement? Absolutely.

If you’re on a GLP-1 and feeling stuck inside, here are some snow-day friendly ways to keep moving without stepping foot in a gym:

• Stair laps (set a timer and go up/down for 5–10 minutes)
• Deep cleaning one room at a time
• Dancing around the house with your kids (or alone… highly recommend 😂)
• Bodyweight moves during TV time (squats, wall push-ups, lunges)
• Carrying laundry baskets (or kids like weighted equipment)
• Stretching or mobility work to stay loose and avoid that “snowed-in stiffness”
• Shoveling in short bursts (slow + steady = still effective)

Remember: movement doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
Consistency > intensity.
Progress > perfection.

Snow day or not, we’re still showing up 🤍

Surviving the cold and snow on a GLP-1 looks a little different over here
Everyone else is panic-buying bread and milk…
I’m layering hoodies, sipping protein, and wondering why I’m freezing at 68 degrees with 4 layers on while my child is running around in a sleeveless princess dress.

Appetite? Suppressed.
Cravings? Snowed in.
Plans? Cancelled because it’s cold and honestly? I don’t feel like it.

If you see me wrapped in a blanket like a sad burrito, mind your business — I’m thriving in survival mode with my protein latte.
