Hello! It’s been a while! 🙌🏻
I wanted to take a moment to introduce my son, Lucan. He entered the world on Friday, January 26th, via cesarean section after two days of labor. 😤 Lil man was very stubborn. But if you know Brenden and I, that fits the bill.
I know I’ve been pretty MIA the past 9 months, and I’m thankful that you’ve been patient and understanding as I went through my pregnancy.

I am on maternity leave until at least April, and am planning on returning to my full time position at the store. However, until Lucan gets a little older, I don’t think I will be doing hair for some time unless things with the store change.

This entirely depends on how I’m feeling and how well Lucan adjusts to my work schedule and childcare. As my leave approaches an end, I will have another update on the status of me being back behind the chair- who knows, it might be easier for me to be behind the chair than at the store by that point.

Until then, mom, dad and Lucan will be recovering at home after a long, stressful birthing experience.

As some of you already know, I’m currently in the first trimester with my first child. 💜 with that being said, I’ve been struggling with fatigue and unstoppable nausea the past few weeks- so I’m sure you’ve noticed I haven’t been doing hair all that often lately.

I currently have a pause on all new appointments until at least July to get me through to the second trimester, where I should see some of my energy come back and my nausea subsides. I work a second job that’s 40 hours a week, and haven’t been able to get through that consistently- my body has been telling me to rest and give myself more breaks than I’m used to.

Thank you for being patient as I try to get myself through this one day at a time ✌🏻

In the meantime, there are a ton of other hair artists at I would be happy to refer you to if needed 💜🌸

Well, this isn’t the news people want to hear. But, I will be limiting my appointments quite a bit In the next couple months.

The hair industry is hard right now. So I will be moving from my independent space and will be renting a chair by the day here and there when my schedule accommodates at Rose Quartz Salon.

This doesn’t mean I’ve stopped doing hair, because I can’t do that. But I’ve had a lot of financial and medical stuff come up and having my own independent space isn’t feasible right now.

Appointments will be very limited, and I’ll be switching back to Square for my appointments in the next month.

My partner and I are planning to try to have a child in the next year, so I had to make the hard choice to really break down my business and take a step back.

Message me for appointments, I will still get you situated, I promise 💜

That being said, I will not be taking new clients for the time being.

It’s with a heavy heart that I will be departing Rose Quartz Salon and taking a break from being behind the chair for a bit. My existing clients I will get a hold of you and we will set you up!

My current scheduled appointments will stay as they are.

This decision took months of thinking on it and my body is at the point where I can’t keep doing both jobs. My carpel tunnel has gotten worse, I’m having back issues, and the industry is hard. Things are very expensive. Time is precious.

On the other side, I’ve been working 7 days a week for the past 3 years. And before that I had been doing night school and working full time. I am burned out.

This isn’t goodbye from doing hair- I’m keeping my license current and will continue to be a hairstylist, even if it’s my friends hair or my own.
And who knows. I might hate not doing hair and come back. But if we try to have a child with me having two jobs, that’s not realistic.

So I’m focusing on my family and spending more time with them. Saving to move into a bigger house, so I can do my dream of being behind the chair but as my own independent chair. This will also let me focus on the store and really excel as a manager.

I can’t say enough about my friends, my family, my coworkers, and most of all my clients for helping me do what I love doing. Making you all love yourselves a little more. Helping you be your best self and the you you want to be.

This isn’t goodbye. Just a stray from the path.
