I’m Shawna, the face behind TheSkinMuse. I’ve always been drawn to service and care — from childcare and elder care, to now creating calming, beauty-filled moments through makeup and skincare. I guess you could say I’ve always been a nurturer at heart.

I’m a little whimsical, a little romantic, and I love finding magic in everyday things — whether it’s a good book, time in nature, or creating a peaceful space for someone to unwind. My work blends makeup artistry with holistic wellness, using intention, kindness, and a touch of intuition to bring out each person’s natural radiance.

A Live letter to my Brides 🥀
After more than a decade serving the wedding and event beauty industry, I felt a deep call for change. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, TheSkinMuse is being re-imagined with new intention and heart.

I stepped away for a season, resting and reflecting on what it truly means to serve. In that space, I had long conversations with my soul about the kind of energy I want to bring into a bride’s most meaningful day.

The realization came quietly at first—every time I heard a bride share how stressed she felt, or when I remembered the grief of being too overwhelmed at my own wedding to even shed a tear. Then, like sparks from ancient stars, it ignited within me: what if beauty wasn’t only about how a bride looks, but how she feels?

The roots of a new vision began to grow. I understood that I could bring the therapies I practice in the treatment room—soothing the nervous system, harmonizing energy, and offering holistic care—directly into the wedding day. My purpose is to help brides feel centered, grounded, and present in their bodies, so they can truly experience the magic of their day with clarity, calm, and joy

Hi. I’ve been gone for a minute, and I’m not quite back just yet but I figured it was time to share a small bit of life updates.

Recently my family has experienced quite the shake up. In September my world was flipped on its head with a family crisis that left me in pieces. It’s been a long road and we’ve been trying to heal ever since.

Durning this process we also experienced another heartbreak to learn that my Kylo (my black dachshund) has a disease called IVDD (Intervertebral disc disease) within the span of 1 week he went from limping to completely paralyzed in his backend.

We’ve been doing our best to adjust to his care routine and we are learning as we go. My boy is like my child so it’s been such a devastating & difficult road to see him like this. We’re doing all we can to manage his back and nerve pain. He’s unable to use the bathroom as normal and his bladder control isn’t functioning as it should since his spinal cord isn’t signaling for him to go potty so we are having to manually make him go throughout the day.

A wheelchair will likely be in Kylos future should he not regain leg function, but this dog mommy is doing PT with him everyday. He gets lots of stretches and leg massages and floats in the bathtub to provide relief on his back end.

I share all this to say please be kind to people because you never know what they might be going through. I’ve been a shell of myself for months now but I’m doing my very best to get back.

This vendor is saying goodbye to full coverage foundation, heavy lashes & intense eye looks to replace with a more skin forward makeup style. The focus will be on wellness, wellbeing, and enhancing your natural features so you can feel your best self on your wedding day. I can’t wait to share more details with you as we prepare for the 2025 bridal season

Beautiful before and after on my stunning natural bride.

We used MAC studio radiance foundation for that skin like finish and pro long wear concealer for concealer and contour.
The eyes were just light wash of Mac paint pot in groundwork and woodwinked eyeshadow and we did just a few individual cluster lashes on the outter eye for a bit of oomph on the eyes.
Blush was rare beauty happy and encourage mixed with milani luminoso on top
Highlight was the dior backstage palette and lips were faux lipstick with Dolly lip plumping gloss from buxom ✨
