Honeycomb brown base opals are a rare and highly sought-after variety of opals...and this one is from Ethiopia.

These opals are characterized by their distinctive honeycomb pattern, which appears as hexagonal or irregular cell-like formations within the gemstone (brown spots on the face). This pattern enhances the play-of-color effect, making the opal even more visually striking.

Stayish opals were discovered in 2013 and is currently the only known source of naturally black opals from Ethiopia

This is a RARE Stayish Ethiopian Rough Opal (5 of 5) that I was able to aquire.
Over the years it has become very difficult to source and only about 15% of what is found has a visable flash.
Due to it being extremely hard to get from the Stayish Mine in Ethiopia, it makes it rare and beautifully special! -I am not sure if I will be able to get anymore after these are gone!
