First day of the AMTA convention in Dallas. Went to a fascinating talk:
Myofunctional therapy is a non-invasive, exercise-based program that strengthens and corrects the function of the facial, tongue, lips, and throat muscles to improve breathing, swallowing, chewing, and speaking. The therapy addresses myofunctional disorders (OMDs), which are functional or structural issues of the face and mouth that can impact dental alignment, cause sleep-disordered breathing, TMJ problems, and affect facial growth.
When you are a mouth breather, your facial features don’t develop properly. And you will be sick more often.

TAMI‘S TIP OF THE DAY
EXCUSE ME Just saw this on AI on Google.
“Good posture
SYMETRICAL and COMFORTABLE positioning of the weight-bearing joints, EFFECIENTLY reacting to the force of gravity, without excessive or imbalance stress upon the body at any given time.”
“ Bad posture
ASYMETRICAL and IMBALANCED positioning of the weight-bearing joints INEFFICIENTLY reacting to the force of gravity, with excessive stress upon the body at any given time.”
I take this to mean.
* Motion is lotion. And when you can’t move it then becomes imbalanced, and you have pain and or lack of comfortable mobility.
* you are at a comfortable weight that lets you stay mobile.
* there are many ways to help with pain and flow of the body. The best way is through breathing. There are many different kinds of breathing techniques. But if you can’t take a deep breath in WITH a slow breath out, the body will not be in balance.
