I’m calling her Princess Donut and don’t come at me saying it’s Ferdinand!

I love the idea of mothering yourself and making sure you have what you need to be healthy and happy.

Something about that idea is easier for me to grasp than trying to make myself feel a certain way about me or my body.

Caring for someone, I can do. Emotions feel less maneuverable.

But even so, I find it awkward. It’s a slow work in progress.

Have you heard this concept before from Matthew Hussey?

It’s not even that dramatic, it’s just setting up new norms and routines that fill me up and get me where I want to go now.

But it’s also recognizing what I’m not. The parts of me that I’m no longer interested in being or the beliefs that no longer serve me.

It’s redefining the way I think and look at the world. It’s freeing but it can also feel scary because it’s unknown.

And yet, there can be so much beauty in the unknown. I am exited to see where this goes and I’ll be documenting it and sharing here.

Sometimes it’s the little undiscovered surprises that make all the difference. It turned my day around.

But I will admit, I was hoping the custodians wouldn’t discover me! 😆

It’s easy to get obsessed with what we haven’t done or to feel behind on all we want to do.

But life is really all the tiny moments that are knitted together into one big life.

Making coffee the way we like it, calling a friend to hear their laugh, crafting a wildflower arrangement, walking at dusk and enjoying a cool breeze.

All these moments add to our happiness, and they’re free.

What little thing have you enjoyed today?

I feel like part of becoming yourself is reclaiming the things you loved before you worried whether they were “for adults”.

Reading has always been like a warm, cozy blanket to me. I’m able to escape into another world for a while and see it from someone else’s perspective.

What summertime activity makes you feel like a kid again?
