☀️ On April 8 at about 10:07 a.m., a partial solar eclipse will take place over California. From Twentynine Palms, we will be able to view about 60% of the eclipse, which will start around 10:07 a.m. and peak around 11:15 a.m., and end around 12:27 p.m. Joshua Tree National Park will be facilitating a solar eclipse viewing space at Freedom Plaza in downtown Twentynine Palms outside the Visitor Center (6533 Freedom Way) from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

They will have a few telescopes set up by Joshua Tree National Park and Sky's The Limit Observatory and Nature Center with solar lenses. Solar glasses will be available for purchase from the Joshua Tree National Park Association. They will have additional tables set up with information regarding astronomy and dark night sky conservation.
