For the past couple of years, I’ve had new clients come to me thinking they were doing something wrong to their hair, when in reality it was the texturizer causing the damage.
I do not recommend texturizers because they break down the disulfide bonds of the hair. Over time, the hair can become over-processed, weak, brittle, and prone to breakage from the ends all the way up the hair shaft after the first application.
Many people think texturizers are “safer” because they are milder than relaxers, but they still chemically alter the structure of the hair. Once those bonds are compromised, the hair can lose its strength, elasticity, and overall integrity.
As a Healthy Hair Master Stylist, I now spend a lot of my time reconstructing and restoring my clients’ hair back to a healthier state. My focus is always on maintaining the health of the hair first. Healthy hair requires strength, moisture balance, proper care creating healthy hair from the inside out.
