Life is only beginning after 40, this is your season of strength!

If I could only keep one lower body exercise, this would be it.
Dumbbell step-up with a slow step back. The step up builds strength, but the slow lower is where your glutes and hamstrings really have to work. Take 3 to 4 seconds on the way down and donāt let your back foot do the lifting.
Start with a lower box than you think you need. Form first, height later.

Comfortable weights build comfortable muscles. And comfortable muscles don't change, adapt and get stronger.
Part 2 of my strength training series is live, and it's all about the how.
I'm sharing the one question I ask every client after a set, my simple system for knowing exactly when to go heavier, the five moves every strong body is built on, and the six mistakes that keep women stuck with the same dumbbells for years.
Your pink dumbbells had a good run. It's time to graduate.

Those cute little pink dumbbells have their place. Building stronger bones isn't it.
I didn't start strength training until my mid-40s, and it changed everything I thought I knew about aging. Today I train women in their 60s, 70s and 80s, and I watch them lift things they never thought they could.
So I finally gave strength training its own episode. Part 1 of my new series is live, and inside I'm sharing:
-The 3-year window when bone loss speeds up the most
-Why your body can change while the scale stays put
-What happened when women with fragile bones lifted heavy
-The race car analogy that ends the "I'll get bulky" myth for good
-A balance move you can do while brushing your teeth
You can't control your hormones. You can control the signal you send your body.

I have such amazing clients and I learn so much from each one of them.
Thank you Carole for being open and honest with me and so willing to make those small, consistent changes.
She wanted to focus on her progress in terms of health, energy, decreased body/joint aches, etc. so the only times she weighed herself was at the doctor. She was pleasantly surprised to learn she had lost 20 # over the 12 weeks of us working together.
I LOVE working with menopausal women!
Doors close TODAY for my 12-week SUSTAIN group nutrition coaching program for menopausal women. Comment SUSTAIN if you would like to get the details. š
Youāre eating less. Moving more. And the scale still wonāt budge. š¤
What if the weight was never really about willpower?
Thereās one thing most women over 50 donāt understand about menopausal weight gain.
Eating in a way to stabilize your blood sugars can make a BIG difference. You notice that cravings calm down, energy comes back, and your body finally starts letting go.
This is exactly what we do in the 12 week SUSTAIN program which starts on Monday, September 28th.
Comment SUSTAIN and Iāll send you the details.
ā° Doors close tomorrow night at midnight.
