Sometimes I forget how much I truly enjoy doing makeup. â¨
Itâs another one of those passions that brings me so much joyânot just because I love the artistry, but because of that moment when she looks in the mirror and you see the light in her eyes change. đ¤
Thereâs something so gratifying about helping a woman feel beautiful, confident, and a little more like herself.
Hair may be my everyday canvas, but makeup will always have a special place in my heart too. đâ¨
MORE THAN JUST HAIR đ¤
Every day, women sit in my chair and trust me with something that is so much more than hair.
They trust me with one of the things that can make us feel beautiful, confident, feminine, and like ourselves. đ And I never want to take that trust lightly.
As I wash their hair, run my hands through their scalp, apply color, style, or simply listen to whatâs happening in their lives, Iâm reminded that this chair is a place of connection.
And sometimes, while my hands are working, my heart is praying.
I pray over the woman sitting in my chair.
I pray for her home.
I pray for her marriage.
I pray for her children.
I pray for the things sheâs carrying that she may never say out loud.
Sometimes those prayers are silent⌠and sometimes, theyâre not so silent. đđđź
But what a privilege it is to know that God can use something as simple as doing hair to make an impact.
Because I may be the one holding the brush, the scissors, or the color bowlâbut He is the One who knows her heart.
So to every woman who has ever sat in my chair: thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your hair, but even more, thank you for allowing me into a small piece of your life.
I donât take that privilege for granted.
I pray that when you leave my chair, you feel beautiful on the outsideâbut more importantly, that something on the inside feels a little lighter, a little stronger, and a little more hopeful.
Because this isnât just hair to me.
Itâs an opportunity to serve, to connect, to encourage, and sometimes⌠to pray. đ¤
