I once had a facial where the esthetician told me all the things that were “wrong” with my skin, including having nasal labial folds, freckles, and some droop at my jawline.
It did not feel good.
The beauty industry often relies on making people feel “less than” to upsell and get repeat business… and I think that is pure ICK.
I like my nasal labial folds. My face moves and expresses itself. I’ve laughed and expressed a lot… heck, my other gig is as an actor! This is normal!
I grew up in the desert, spent summer outside, and only figured out daily sunscreen when I was 30. Those freckles remain AND I now protect myself from skin cancer.
I am middle aged and my subcutaneous fat distribution is a little different than when I was 20. I am lucky to be alive!
I am okay with all of these things.
All I wanted was a little time to relax, some brightening that would be safe for my sensitive skin, and a few extractions, but the esthetician was going from her script to find what was “wrong” with me, not what I wanted.
When you come to me, I will ASK you about your skin… I not only look and feel, but I listen. I will analyze your skin, but rather than running down some list of all the ways I can make you feel bad, I will address any questions or concerns you have. Peachy Keene Skin Care now in Ballard!

Exciting news! Peachy Keene Skin Care-Seattle has officially relocated to a new studio in Ballard. I can't wait for you to experience services in this lovely new space!

My new spot at 1417 NW 54th St. #474 has plenty of free parking on 14th Avenue, making it easier for you to indulge in services on the regular. I'm also much closer to Queen Anne, so for those of you who've not been able to make the trip to Ravenna, I'm now just a few minutes away!

After you park, you'll find a secure entrance at the front of the building and a cozy waiting room right as you exit the elevator... hooray for greater accessibility! Just dial 939 at the callbox and I'll buzz you in. If you forget, you can always find my name, Alyssa Keene, on the callbox directory... easy-peasy, peachy-squeezey!

Lastly, this location change also brings an adjustment to my Seattle hours... I'll be taking Seattle clients every Wednesday and many Thursdays and Saturdays. Don't forget to book early to secure your spot!

Or... you could always book a getaway to Whidbey Island and treat yourself to a service at my Greenbank location...😀

Monthly facials? Yes please!

Happy fall, everyone!

Just a quick note to tell you that I’ve recently added a subscription option for facials. You can now sign up for a monthly facial of your choice and receive a 10% discount. You will be billed monthly for your facial and your subscription will renew quarterly. Need to take a break? You can always pause or cancel your subscription in person or online. Just ask the next time you’re in and I’ll set it up!
Alternatively, you can purchase a facial package that is also at a 10% discount. Billing will be for all four facials at once rather than and booking can be spread out over a greater period of time.
Lastly, as we enter the holiday season, remember that a gift certificate is a fantastic present for friends, colleagues, and loved ones. I’ll have a supply of lotions, potions, and soaps on hand as well and will provide gift wrapping services. You can always forward this email on to someone who might be shopping for you, too!
