Hi, my name is Amanda, and I am a licensed Nurse Practitioner! And I struggle with self-care. I am the worst at taking on too much. I preach about all things self-care and its importance, but I do not take my own advice. I mention this because I recently got sick after opening my new IV therapy clinic in the Cargo District. I knew I was stressed and more likely to get sick, but I kept powering through and didn’t take the time I needed to rest and replenish. If I had just taken some time during the craziness, I could have likely avoided being out of work for 2 days. After this experience, I decided that self-care needs to be a priority. So, I recently took the time to get an IV because I knew it would help boost my energy levels, mental clarity, and immune system. I know if I take the time to practice what I preach, I will be healthier for myself and for the people around me. I just wanted to share because I know I am not the only one who struggles with taking a break from adulting to care for themselves.
