Before You Throw Away Your CeraVe Products… Read This
You’ve probably seen the viral headlines,
CeraVe contains benzene and causes cancer.
These headlines leave out some very important details and are very misleading. This is why understanding how to ready scientific studies is so important.
First, this was NOT about all CeraVe products. The concern involved certain benzoyl peroxide acne treatments, not the entire CeraVe skincare line. Second, the original claims came from testing performed by Valisure, a private laboratory that has generated numerous high profile headlines over the years. They are the same company that got you to fear sunscreen and cited it causes cancer…
Their testing exposed products to elevated temperatures and conditions, like expired products and testing at extreme heats for two weeks straight.
Most importantly, when the FDA conducted its own independent testing on 95 benzoyl peroxide acne products, more than 90% had undetectable or extremely low benzene levels. Only a small number of products were found to have elevated levels and were voluntarily recalled. No product is being sold with high concentrations of benzene. That’s not how cosmetic chemistry works.
This is exactly why we have to be careful with skincare information on social media.
Valisure is the bully in the skincare industry and guess what… they publish these studies to market their own products using the same ingredients.
If you’re 40+ start prioritizing these ingredients: retinoids, peptides, ceramides, niacinamide, and antioxidants and a good LED Therapy Mask like

A recent case involving an unlicensed individual allegedly providing Botox injections serves as an important reminder, injectables are medical procedures, not beauty services.
Botox and dermal fillers involve facial anatomy, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. While complications are uncommon when treatments are performed properly by qualified medical professionals, the risks increase significantly when procedures are performed by unlicensed or improperly trained individuals.
Individuals with ONLY an Esthetician license in Florida can not provide injections!
Here are a few things every consumer should know.
Ask about your provider’s credentials and licensing.
Ask who provides medical oversight for the practice.
Make sure products are obtained through legitimate, authorized medical distributors.
Be cautious of prices that seem dramatically lower than everyone else in the area.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions about training, experience, and emergency protocols.
When it comes to injectables, you’re not just paying for a product. You’re paying for the provider’s education, training, understanding of facial anatomy, and ability to recognize and manage complications should they occur.
As an esthetician, I fully support everyone’s right to choose the cosmetic treatments that are right for them. My goal is simply to encourage consumers to prioritize safety and informed decision making.
Your face deserves more than the cheapest option.
Because correcting a complication is often far more expensive and far more difficult than doing it right the first time.
When purchasing an LED therapy light device for home use, you cannot rely on luxury skincare branding. Your cells respond strictly to laws of optical physics. To ensure a device activates cellular pathways (photobiomodulation) without inducing the chronic inflammation or thermal heat that ruins a skin barrier and flares melasma, you must verify the exact engineering data.

The hard truth is this, if a practitioner doesn't deeply understand cellular structures, they aren't going to know how to actually help your skin. Devices and serums don't create flawless skin or melt away wrinkles on their own. They merely issue a command. The final result depends entirely on whether your skin cells are healthy, energized, and properly fueled to execute that command.
When you book a treatment with me, we are bypassing the marketing fluff and targeting the skin exactly where results come from
Target your Fibroblasts: These are the deep construction cells responsible for building collagen. I use precise Signal Peptides and Exosomes to drop direct instructions straight onto their receptors.
I respect your Keratinocytes: These are the cell bricks forming your physical skin shield. Instead of aggressively burning them away, I use zero-downtime KrX Progressive Peels to gently loosen the microscopic glue (desmosomes) holding dead skin down, leaving you with an instant glow.
I recharge your Cellular Batteries: Cells need metabolic energy (ATP) to heal. I pair our treatments with Nano Channeling and Electroporation, using specialized electromagnetic fields to temporarily open gateways directly in your cell walls so high potency actives can flood straight into the cell's engine room.
By understanding the exact science of the cell, I can customize a high results, low waste protocol for you. I use physics and chemistry to rewrite your skin health from the inside out.
Stop painting the surface of your skin and let me start managing the cells.

Let's talk about Myths and Facts. Starting with Retinoids. You will hear people say they love it, then hear others say they can't tolerate it, or it "thins" the skin.
There is a learning curve for retinoids. It is not an everyday product. Start with 2x per week then gradually increase to 3 times per week. This will limit sensitivity and reactions. And no, it does not "thin" the skin in the way people portray it.
Let's break it down in cellular biology.
The Myth: Retinol is just a fast exfoliator.
The Biological Reality:
Retinol cannot be used by the skin directly. It must undergo a two step intracellular conversion into All Trans Retinoic Acid.
Retinoic acid enters the cell nucleus and binds directly to Retinoic Acid Receptors (RAR) and Retinoid X Receptors (RXR). This ligand receptor complex interacts with the cell's DNA, sending direct commands to:
Turn up the speed of keratinocyte division in the basal layer (mitosis).
Turn down the expression of Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) the enzymes responsible for eating away your client's existing collagen matrix.
So, the end result is accelerated exfoliation, smoothed texture, and densified dermal layers.
When we talk about cellular health, cell signaling, or cellular remodeling this can take 4 -12 weeks to see results. Real change is happening beneath the surface, but it takes time to process.
This topic goes well with our microneedling discussion.
Florida does not have a state issued license titled “Medical Esthetician.”
The esthetics licenses recognized by the state are:
• Esthetician
• Full Specialist
Employment setting does not change licensure. Working in a med spa, wellness center, plastic surgery office, or medical practice does not create a separate “medical esthetician” license or scope.
This is very important for transparency because titles can influence client understanding of credentials, scope of practice, and oversight.
Clients should know:
• What license their provider holds
• What procedures fall within legal scope
• Whether medical oversight is present when required
• What certifications and training the provider has completed
Transparency and accurate credential representation are important for both client protection and professional accountability.
As an industry, clear communication regarding licensure and scope protects clients, providers, and the integrity of the profession.
Friendly reminder for clients and professionals.
In Florida, microneedling is considered a medical procedure and cannot be performed by an esthetician without appropriate medical oversight/directorship and protocols in place. A tattoo license does not qualify you to preform this treatment.
As someone who focuses heavily on corrective skin health, I’ve unfortunately seen multiple new clients this year dealing with barrier damage, prolonged inflammation, pigmentation concerns, and compromised skin following improperly performed treatments.
Microneedling can be an incredible treatment when done correctly, with proper assessment, contraindication screening, depth selection, sanitation protocols, and post care.
Before booking any treatment, ask questions:
• Who is performing the procedure?
• What are their credentials?
• What protocols are in place?
• Who oversees the treatment?
• What is the emergency protocol if complications occur?
This is for your safety. An esthetician without a medical director has no insurance to provide this treatment. This can turn into a big legal issue fast.
