HOW DO YOU START a RAINY ☔️ First Sunday in OCTOBER?
It is Sunday, October 4, 2026 from .
It is gonna be a rainy day here and the rain 🌧️ is definitely welcome!
I know lots of places are in need of rain for the “wild critters” and the rivers and streams and most importantly for the crops and pretty vegetation 🌺 we are blessed with.
So this morning I flipped the switch and turned on the fire 🔥 place (without the blowing heat), grabbed my coffee, played wordle and will now settle in to wait for the Mighty Leon to awaken by reading my James Patterson book called “The Noise”!
This book is about unsettling times and I cannot wait to finish it and fond out what/who is causing all the disruptions.
Later I will make my chicken vegetable soup for us. (I used to call it ‘snow soup’ because I made it each time it snowed back in Virginia.)
Since current life is about learning to “pivot” I now make the soup on rainy days!
So how do YOU start off a Soggy Sunday?

Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day
#1. Getting to Greensboro early for the Quiz Bowl and Walking Events at the Kintura Olympics. Did you see the word Early!
#2. Finding where the food 🍱 and coffee ☕️(very important to me) was since we drove ourselves and went in the “back door”!
#3. I was a spectator, finding my spot 🪑 to sit for the opening ceremonies was tough! I moved 3 times per instructions lol).
#4. Cheering 📣 on Glenaire through about 4 hours.
#5. Having an ahmazing lunch!
#6. Excited when our Glenaire Quiz Bowl team received a bronze medal 🥉(and YES, there were more than 3 teams). Cheered for all our Glenaire Walkers who were on the podium many many times!
#6. Got home in time to refresh my lipstick 💄 and go down to .
#7. Brought dinner upstairs and ate and both Leon and I promptly fell asleep 💤 .
#8. Ready for Bingo and then this will be a resting day for me.
Think about this! 70-100 year olds still competing at our age in anything is fun and keeps us in physical, mental and emotional good shape.
