WHO DREADS THE process of GETTING a NEW PHONE?

I did something NEW for me yesterday!
I went to Raleigh Crabtree Mall for the first time since we moved to Cary, NC 6 years ago!
Why you might ask??
I needed a new I-Phone (mine was degrading) so I needed an upgrade (phone was 4 years old).
Saga of my getting a phone 📱:
** Have “thought about it” for months. Draining!!
** Dreaded going to Verizon for it because that is always an ordeal (reminded me of TimeShares Sales events without the free meal 🍩🍺).
** However a couple of weeks ago I had the most pleasant EVER visit to the Verizon Store on Walnut.
** Walked in and signed in. 5 people ahead of me on the sign in (heavy sigh).
** An associate comes over and asks what I want. I said a new phone. He looked up my account (our carrier is Verizon for forever) and he informed me that our plan was a good one and I should go to the Apple Store—I might get a good trade in on my currant phone 📱 )!
WAIT!!!
WHAT???
A Sales Person was helping me by sending me away???
So, I wait for a week but do due diligence looking into this.
**. I chatted with Apple (thru a one way zoom where it was just my voice but I saw 👀 the Apple Guy in Texas) who answered all my questions about how it worked.
** Yesterday I ventured out to one of two malls in this area to go to the Apple 🍎 store—another first.
** I was guided to work with Leighton (in photo with me) and it was his second day on the job. But Jay his supervisor was there.
**. And I got my new I-Phone 17 Pro Max and they backed up for this new jazzy phone to mirror my old one.
I am soo happy 😆 that this experience with an event I was not looking forward to ended up being pleasant due to the professionalism these three sales people I encountered. Their job was NOT just to sell me something BUT to fill my need! And each of them did just that!

Oh what a fun night last night here at (aka Glenaire Continuing Care Retirement Community) aka !
We had a fabulous duo called Kiss N Tell return to our theatre which is in our building.
They sang and we sang and our feet were tapping and did I say we sang as well?
Some great thoughts after attending a professional concert here at Glenaire.
1. We did not have to drive a 🚘 anywhere.
2. The 🎶 was only 1 hour. (Apparently at this age this is our attention span or since it ended at 8:00 pm maybe past our bedtime 😅!)
3. We got to sit by our friends (I sat between Leon and Marcia Sugg and in front of Mary Joe Matts Hudson and behind a new resident, her friend and a future resident!
4. It took us only 3 minutes to return to our home 🏠 afterwards.
5. I spent a date night with my boyfriend.
6. It was FREE!!
Oh how I love living here with such wonderful friends.
Today is another great day!

Wait, what is this photo of you ask? And why is Pattigene’s name on a photo of the Pentagon?
Yes I worked for the Air Force ✈️ (with a small side trip of less than a year with the Joint Chiefs of Staff) at the Pentagon for almost 20 years as a civilian.
I DID leave before 20 years because I was a civil servant and you had to be at least 55 years old with 20 years in. I was much younger than the age requirement and was ready to move on with another career I have continued in for over 35 years.
I was good at that job and some of those airplanes ✈️ are still being used by the Air Force. Because of the maintenance budget I worked on. (Or why else would a B-52 still be in the AF arsenal?)
But I found something that suited me better and that they say is history.
And now living here at I reflect on my memories from those days and I love making new memories!

DOES WEATHER DICTATE YOUR ATTITUDE?
A foggy beginning to this Sunday, July 26, 2026 from .
This morning I looked 👀 out and could not see much due to the fog.
Which was bizarre as I awakened I had clarity in what I wanted to accomplish this day! And I was excited 😆 with my daily plan.
Yet seeing the fog, it set me back a bit! I reminded myself that I have the clarity and will and focus 🧘 to NOT let the weather dictate my mood.
So I continued on with my Wordle with Wally aka (Wallace Beard,) my coffee ☕️ and decided to capture the fog in a not soo good photo (my regular morning routine)!
And I conquered that and am STILL excited about my plans for today. Whether the sun comes out or not.
Do You ever have to convince yourself to stay on course with your emotional well being?
So you wonder what are my plans which I will do joyfully today? (If you do not care, too bad. Here it is lol 😂).
**. Read 5 chapters of my book 📕
**. Visit with a friend if she is up to it.
**. Mail out my unit’s end of year award 🥇 prizes/gifts 🎁 which are a week late!
**. Attend our Zoom Grace group for inspiration.
**. Get together with our Sixth Floor Southeast “family” for our monthly celebration of each other.
Now that I listed everything out and reminded myself of all that I GET to do today, it is well with my soul!!
