in YOGA we bend so we don't break

अद्य सर्वाधिक मूल्यवान् वस्तु कालः ।
Adya sarvādhika mūlyavān vastu kālaḥ.

“Today, the most valuable thing is time.”

We often measure our lives by what we have accumulated, accomplished, or achieved.

But the one thing we can never possess is the moment that has already passed.

Time is not waiting for us somewhere in the future.
It is here.
This breath.
This heartbeat.
This moment of awareness.

Yoga reminds us that presence is not something we find outside ourselves. It is something we return to.

When we become fully present, time changes its meaning. We stop rushing through our lives and begin experiencing them.

Perhaps the greatest form of abundance is not having more time, but being fully alive within the time we have.

As the mantra Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha flows, may it remind us to release what no longer needs to be carried, return to the present moment, and meet this life with awareness, compassion, and grace.

Your time is your life.
Where you place your attention, you place your life.

Try it! It’s one of the easy ones - just take it step-by-step!
पडांगुष्ठ धनुरासन (Dhanurasana) 🏹
Variation of Bow Pose is an intense, sacred backbend that creates an unbroken circuit of energy through your entire body. Spiritually, this posture symbolizes devotion, grace, and surrendering the ego. It calls for an inward journey of deep trust, pulling your bow back with intention to quiet the mind, dissolve stored emotional armor around the heart, and expand into your highest consciousness. Give it time, and let your body figure it out.
Teacher Tips & Benefits:
Warm Up First: Always warm up your hips, shoulders, and spine before attempting the full bind.
Listen to Your Body: Ease in gently with patience and breath, never force the depth.
Benefits: Deeply stretches the hip flexors, opens the chest, improves spine flexibility, and builds body awareness.
Honor your body’s wisdom, play with your edge, and save this for your next practice! OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA

Awakening the Green Tara
In the quiet depths of Badwater Basin, movement becomes prayer.
The sacred chant of Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha clears the mind, dissolves fear, and opens the heart to universal compassion. Flowing through each breath, this practice is a pilgrimage inward, a gentle return to strength, grace, and inner sanctuary.

Pārśva Bakāsana | पार्श्व बकासन
Some yoga poses challenge your strength, some your flexibility. Then there are the ones that challenge your ability to trust yourself.
Pārśva Bakāsana looks like raw strength from the outside, but the real practice is much subtle. It’s finding that small, almost invisible point between effort and surrender, between holding on and letting go.
स्थिरसुखमासनम्
Sthira Sukham Asanam - Steadiness and ease are the qualities of the posture.
I come back to these words constantly. Steadiness isn’t about everything feeling easy; it’s about remaining present when things get difficult. To breathe when the mind wants to rush. To trust the body when balance feels uncertain.
Your hands become your roots. Your core becomes your center. Your breath becomes your anchor. And then, little by little, you learn to fly.
Yoga reminds us that the pose is never the destination. The shape changes, our bodies change, but the practice of finding steadiness within ourselves remains.
Find your center. Breathe. Trust. Fly.

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the Self.”

Inspired by the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita

This Adiyogi inspired pose looks simple, but it’s a beautiful practice of balance and body awareness.

When we try something new on the mat, our body learns through experience. With each attempt, the brain and body communicate, adjust, and discover the movement.

Give it a try! If it doesn’t happen on the first attempt, give it a couple more tries and allow your body to find its own balance.

Sometimes we learn not by thinking, but by doing, practicing, and trusting the process. That is why it is called a yoga practice. We return to the mat again and again, because no pose is ever truly perfect. The beauty is in the learning, the exploration, and the journey.

ॐ तारे तुत्तारे तुरे स्वाहा

Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha

This ancient mantra is a prayer for liberation from fear, obstacles, and illusion. It reminds us to return to our true nature.

Death Valley in July is one of the harshest environments on Earth. Research shows that extreme heat can increase irritability, impair judgment, and make reactive aggression more likely. When the body is pushed to its limits, the mind is tested as well.

Perhaps that is why places like this reveal so much about us. When comfort disappears, what remains? Do we react with frustration, or do we respond with awareness? With fear, or with compassion?

May we remember who we truly are.

May fear become courage.

May compassion guide our actions.

“Where there is joy, there is creation. Where there is no joy, there is no creation.”
— Chandogya Upanishad

The vast salt flats of Badwater Basin reflect the infinite space within, a physical reminder that the body is a mirror of the universe. In Compass Pose (Parivrtta Surya Yantrasana), the physical form stretches beyond its perceived limits, untying the subtle knots (granthis) of the body to reveal the quiet, luminous awareness underneath.

This asana is a physical invocation of the internal compass, aligning individual consciousness with the sacred geometry of the universe. In Sanskrit, Surya represents the solar, illuminating principle of self-realization, while Yantra is the sacred instrument or portal through which we channel divine energy. As the heart twists toward the sun and the body unfolds into a sacred mandala, we move beyond the physical sheath (Annamaya Kosha) to awaken Prana, expanding our perception to orient toward our true north, Atman.

At 282 feet below sea level, this expansive salt flat is the lowest point in North America. The crystalline salt crusts form as ancient lakes evaporate under the desert sun, creating a surreal canvas of natural geometric patterns.

“Lead me from the unreal to the real,
from darkness to light,
from death to immortality.”
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

📍 Badwater Basin, Death Valley National Park

Sitting 282 feet (86 meters) below sea level, Badwater Basin is the lowest point in North America. A surreal landscape where ancient waters have given way to endless salt flats, sculpted by time beneath towering mountain ranges.

Standing here before sunrise, the heat is already present. The salt crust beneath bare feet is sharp, coarse, and unforgiving. Yet, in the presence of something far more powerful, the body quietly changes its priorities. Every breath becomes heavier. The heart works harder. The body instinctively conserves energy, revealing an extraordinary intelligence we rarely notice in everyday life.

The sharp salt beneath my feet gradually disappeared from my awareness. Faced with a much greater challenge, the mind simply let go of the lesser one.

This posture is not about holding a pose. It is an exploration of physical duality. By drawing the body inward and creating internal resistance, opposing forces become a source of stability. Sometimes the strongest foundation we can find is the one we create within ourselves.
