Mama G's Traditions

Last night we drummed at Sunset Eats. 🪘🌅

Grateful for Joel who came through with his Djembe and then helped us pack up at the end of the night. Grateful for the Divine Masculine energy 🙌🏽

Grateful for Verse and for Angel who held space with us.

There is something that happens when people gather around a drum at sunset. The day releases. The body remembers. And strangers become community.

We are thinking of making this a monthly event.

Who wants in? Drop a 🪘 in the comments.

Con mucho amor 😘🐛🦋

China has brought an underwater data center powered by offshore wind into operation off Shanghai, combining two resources from the surrounding environment: renewable electricity and seawater cooling.

The facility is located in the Lin-gang Special Area, where engineers have developed a system that places computing infrastructure beneath the sea rather than relying entirely on conventional land-based facilities.

The project connects the data center directly to offshore wind power and uses seawater through a heat-exchange system to remove heat from its servers. According to project figures, this design is expected to reduce electricity consumption by 22.8%, eliminate freshwater use for cooling, and reduce land use by more than 90%. More than 95% of its electricity is expected to come from renewable sources.

The project began with a 2.3-megawatt demonstration phase, while the overall development is designed to reach 24 megawatts.

Why does this matter? Data centers supporting cloud computing and artificial intelligence require substantial amounts of electricity and generate considerable heat. Cooling them can add to their energy demand, while some conventional facilities also rely on freshwater.

Moving computing infrastructure offshore could help address some of these challenges by combining renewable power with a natural cooling source. But the approach also needs to prove itself over time, including how easily underwater equipment can be maintained, upgraded, and operated over its full lifetime.

The project is an important experiment in making digital infrastructure more resource-efficient. Its long-term environmental benefits will depend on actual operating performance, the source of its electricity, and the broader impacts of building and maintaining equipment at sea.

As demand for AI and cloud computing grows, innovations like this could help reshape where computing happens—and how it is powered and cooled.

Come join us! We're right by the batting cages 🪘🔥💃

Abraham Lincoln stood before a crowd in 1859 and delivered words that would echo through American democracy for generations: "We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution."

He wasn't calling for revolution. He was calling for accountability. Lincoln understood something fundamental about a republic: power doesn't truly belong to the politicians or the judges. It belongs to you. To the citizens. To the people who cast ballots and hold their leaders to account.

When those in power twist the Constitution to serve themselves, when they ignore its core principles for personal gain, the people have not just the right but the duty to replace them. For Lincoln, the Constitution was sacred—a framework built to protect liberty. And the highest act of patriotism was ensuring that the people administering it were as honorable and just as the document itself.

This wasn't idealism. It was a warning wrapped in hope.
