Left Hand Soap Co. is closing our brick & mortar retail & production space in Birmingham at the end of 2023. We will transition to online sales only starting December 11th, 2023.

For 25 years, we’ve known that running a small business is a challenge; and this year has proven to be the most challenging yet. I don’t need to describe the current small business climate to any of you, I’m sure. Supply chain struggles and steeply increasing ingredient costs have left us unable to consistently keep items available and in stock. We pride ourselves in affordable, consistent products with high quality ingredients. Anyone who knows me knows that half-ass won’t cut it. So, we need to make a change - to pivot to meet the demands of the current climate and our own well being.

At the same time, the other irons Erik and I have in the fire are getting hot and breathing new life into our creative pursuits. This has been a year of transitions for us on all fronts, and this is a transition we welcome with open arms.

The reality of it is, Erik and I are both neurodivergent people who never intended for the brick & mortar part of our retail to even exist, much less take up so much of our footprint and energy. People, as lovely as they are, can be exhausting for us, and we’ve given years of our mental health in service to face-to-face engagement. It’s time for us to focus on what we do best - making all natural products with your skin’s health in mind.

What does that mean?

*Monday, December 11th, 2023. We will transition to online only sales.

*Tuesday, December 12th - Friday, December 15th. Our Birmingham workshop will be closed to the public.

*Saturday, December 16th, 2023. We will be open one more day for pick up orders and in-workshop purchases.

*Pick Up Orders: Birmingham and West Alabama friends can place orders for pickup that will be available for pick up on SATURDAY DECEMBER 16th, 2023, 9am - 2pm ONLY.

*Friday, December 22nd, 2023 is our final shipping date for 2023.

*Into the future: We’re going to take a break to breathe and shape the next phase of LHSCo. Keep an eye out here and at our website, lefthandsoapcompany.com, for updates as we go on this journey together.

There's just no way around it, y'all. 💦 Rain seems definite for tomorrow. But we're a rain or shine farmers market, so yes! We will be open. 😎 Thankfully, temps will be warm so it shouldn't be too cold or windy.

The farmers who have enough produce to bring will be at market. 🌱 The food vendors & artists who have goods that won't spoil in wet weather will be with us, too.

Choose to shop local if you can. ✨ Every little bit helps!
