As a cosmetologist and hairstylist, I can’t honestly say this new trend of replacing relaxers with lace frontals is any better. I’ve watched the relaxer era lead to thinning, breakage, and damage—and now I’m seeing the lace frontal era come with disappearing edges and even skin irritation. At this point, it really makes me wish more of us would get back to simply caring for and embracing our natural hair.
