One of my favorite projects so far🦋 This was from our Aveda 2022 Photoshoot, I chose to do a butterfly theme makeup look and chose as my model which seemed fitting as butterfly’s are her favorite and her butterfly sleeve went flawlessly with this look💙

we started what may turn out to be my favorite phase of school; makeup! i’ve never been one to wear a lot of makeup i tend to go for the more natural look no matter the occasion but this phase has already gotten me to step out of my comfort zone in a really fun way. this makeup look is still one of the more natural looks but i did add a little pop of red to my lips which i’m loving lately🍒

i am OFFICIALLY starting to book facials !! every thursday i will have openings from 10:30-1 & 2-6:30. go to the aveda website for the VANCOUVER campus, select my name (Cassidy Phelps) and get a facial done by yours truly! i am available for 3 different tulasara facials that will directly combat your skin concerns, together we will make your skin glow!🤍

as i was applying for yet another scholarship today, the question i had to answer really got me thinking; tell us what joy means to you and how you try to find joy in your life.

i wanted to share my answer with all of you.

Sometimes joy isn’t always present in a persons life, therefore you have to seek it out. I learned this lesson at a young age and for a very long time I didn’t know how to find that joy, I always assumed it would come back in the moments I was supposed to feel happy in but that wasn’t always the case. Seeking out joy, while sometimes unfair, is something that is so necessary. To me, finding joy is finding myself and doing the things that make me happy. Sometimes it takes trial and error, sometimes you think it’s a person and they may let you down, sometimes it’s a new job you hoped you would love and ended up hating, and sometimes it could be your loved ones who you hoped you could count on and weren’t there. While it’s been a lot of hard work, the most prevalent thing in my life giving me joy is starting school and finally pursuing something I am passionate about. I was hesitant for a very long time about what I wanted to do with my career as well as being terrified of making the wrong choice but I finally chose to take the first steps. Starting school has helped me find some joy in a world full of chaos, it gives me purpose and something to look forward to. Sometimes you find joy in things you didn’t think you would; but the very first step to finding joy, is finding joy in being your true undeniable self.

these last few months i’ve had to continuously seek out joy in the little things, my big and small accomplishments and try to find inner peace, i’m still working on all of that but today i got one step closer.
