one of the greatest gifts Yoga has given me is the ability to notice a tiny change in my own body…

…and later offer that same experience to someone on my Thai mat.

Over time, those little discoveries have become some of my greatest teachers.

That’s something I hope every student leaves my workshops with
not just new techniques, but a different way of learning.

Because eventually, I want you to stop relying on me for the next answer.

I want you to feel something in your own body, get curious, and start discovering your own.

PS:
Any movement practice can offer this gift, you have to build awareness and then carry those lessons into the way we move others (and actually ourselves) too on the Thai mat.

Maybe you don’t hate massage.

Maybe you hate the version of massage you accidentally built.

Before you walk away from this profession…

Ask yourself if you’ve actually explored all the ways it can be practiced.

Sometimes we don’t need a new career.

We need new examples of what’s possible.🫶

What if you’ve been asking the wrong question?
Not…
“How do I become a better massage therapist?”
But…
“What kind of practitioner do I actually want to become?”

I say this because I was lost.
My friends were all having successful spa like, deep tissue practices and
I was secretly dreaming of this practice that was bright, on the floor, fully clothed.
My clients liked to be moved and stretched.
And they participated in the session versus fell asleep.
Oh and I got ATLEAST a half an hour break between appts.

If you were nodding your head because you dream of offering something different, unique, perhaps a little bit quirky…

you are why I offer SargaThai workshops…

Not to convince every massage therapist to practice differently,

But to give the therapists who’ve quietly felt this same pull… a place to stop apologizing for it.

No I’m not going to say it’s the “easiest route” but think of it this way,

Would you rather build another Starbucks or would you prefer to build the coffee shop on the corner that is like nothing else offered out there?

If you are tired of fitting in the box or following the trends…

I have 2 spots left for SargaThai in Vail, Colorado. About a month away.
The details are in my bio.🫶🫶🫶

Let’s talk having monthly massage memberships as a solo entrepreneur…

Monthly memberships are excellent for keeping a steady income and knowing exactly how much you are going to bring in every month,
BUT

For some it’s an easy way to burn out.

Giving my take on why I don’t like it so you can have more information about why it might not work for you too:

I push up against structure, walls and doing something the same way every month (ahem even in massage I will never offer the same session twice.)

I like to take vacation as often as possible and have random days off when I feel burnt out.

This allows me to stay in this career for the long term.

I also don’t like to disappoint ppl so to set up a membership that pretty much guarantees they are going to get a massage once a month, then I want to go on vacation for two weeks…

Well then I’m going to have to work extra hard the week before and after my vacation and that sounds awful to me.

Your practice always comes back to getting to know yourself and recognizing that you don’t have to create something that looks like what others are doing.

What about you? Tried it and liked it? Not for you? Thinking about it? Know for darn tootin it’s not for you?
