Tempered Wellness
Wellness facility tentatively planned for Vincennes—traditional sauna, cold plunge & red light therapy.

LET'S TALK ABOUT RED LIGHT
Red light therapy may be the service we're planning that people know the least about.
Our current vision includes a private red light therapy space that can be used independently or as part of a larger wellness routine.
Over the next several months, we'll be sharing more information about red and near-infrared light, the research behind it, and why we're interested in including it at Tempered Wellness.
For now:
🔴 Have you ever tried red light therapy?
YES or NO?

We're planning more than equipment.
We're planning an environment.

Relaxing?
Premium?
Minimalist?

Spa-like?
Something completely different?
Give us one word describing the atmosphere you'd want.

WOULD YOU COME WITH SOMEONE?
Some people want complete peace and quiet when they use a sauna.
Others would rather bring a friend and make contrast therapy something they do together every week.
Which are you?
SOLO or WITH A FRIEND?
And if it's with a friend, tag your future plunge partner.

TEMPERED WELLNESS — FUTURE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Tempered Wellness is a modern wellness center we are working to bring to Vincennes. Our current plan includes a traditional Finnish sauna, commercial cold plunges, contrast therapy, and red light therapy in a clean, welcoming environment focused on wellness, recovery, and community.
We are still several months away from opening, so WE ARE NOT OFFICIALLY HIRING YET. However, we have created a temporary interest form for people who may want to work with us once we begin building our team.
Potential positions could involve welcoming and checking in members, assisting customers who are new to our services, maintaining an exceptionally clean facility, monitoring sauna and cold-plunge areas, performing routine water-quality checks, handling memberships and retail sales, stocking towels and supplies, and helping create a friendly and professional experience for our customers.
Experience in fitness or wellness may be helpful for some roles, but it will not necessarily be required for every position. We will be looking for dependable, personable people who care about customer service and keeping the facility clean and organized.
We are making exciting progress. We are working toward securing our location, have already spoken with a builder about the buildout, and financing for the startup is getting closer to being in place.
Again, THIS IS NOT A HELP-WANTED ADVERTISEMENT YET.
Filling out the form does not guarantee employment or constitute a formal job application. It simply lets us know who may be interested when we are ready to begin hiring.

THIS ISN'T JUST FOR ATHLETES
We talk a lot about recovery, and that word sometimes makes people think Tempered Wellness is only being designed for athletes.
It isn't.
Recovery can also mean recovering from:
A physically demanding job.
A stressful workweek.
Hours spent on your feet.
Travel.
Poor sleep.
A hard workout.
Or simply the nonstop pace of everyday life.
We're trying to create a place where a wide variety of people can intentionally take some time for themselves.
What usually leaves YOU feeling like you need to recharge?

RED LIGHT THERAPY: MORE THAN JUST “RED” LIGHT
The red light therapy equipment we are planning for Tempered Wellness will use multiple wavelengths of visible red, blue, and near-infrared light:
480 nm
630 nm
660 nm
810 nm
830 nm
850 nm
1060 nm
Why so many wavelengths?
Different wavelengths pe*****te tissue to different depths and interact with the body in different ways. In medical research, this broader category is often called photobiomodulation.
Here are several areas where clinical research has found potential benefits:
• SKIN HEALTH & COLLAGEN SUPPORT
Red light around 630-660 nm has been studied for skin rejuvenation. In one randomized clinical trial, 660 nm light significantly reduced periocular wrinkle volume after a series of treatments.
• MUSCLE RECOVERY & SORENESS
Red and near-infrared wavelengths in roughly the 660-950 nm range have been studied for recovery after exercise. Recent systematic reviews found reductions in delayed-onset muscle soreness and improvements in some measures of muscle strength and recovery.
• PAIN & JOINT SUPPORT
Photobiomodulation has been studied for musculoskeletal pain, including tendinopathy and knee osteoarthritis. Some trials and meta-analyses show reduced pain, although the strength of the evidence varies by condition and treatment protocol.
• WOUND & TISSUE REPAIR
Red and near-infrared light have been studied for wound healing and tissue repair. Research has reported benefits in some wound types, especially with wavelengths in the red and near-infrared ranges, although results vary depending on the condition and dose.
• HAIR GROWTH
Red and near-infrared photobiomodulation has been studied for androgenetic hair loss, with systematic reviews finding improvements in hair density in some clinical trials.
• ACNE-RELATED SKIN SUPPORT
480 nm is actually blue light rather than red light. Blue-light therapy has been studied for acne because it can affect acne-related bacteria in the skin. Some trials have shown improvement, although the overall evidence is less consistent than for some red and near-infrared applications.
One important point: the wavelength alone does not determine the result. Irradiance, treatment time, total dose, distance from the device, frequency of use, and the condition being treated all matter.
We are researching commercial equipment that gives us a broad range of wavelengths so Tempered Wellness can offer a high-quality, modern photobiomodulation experience.
This is a wellness service, not a promise to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition, but there is a growing body of medical research behind the use of red and near-infrared light.
