Light, Bright and Detailed Bridal Makeup

Light does not mean using a lesser number of products, it means applying a minimal amount of the products and building with them. Of course there’s the old saying, “less is more”, and for a bride most often times it is. With this said, color correction, blemishes and imperfections should all be properly corrected while maintaining this concept. The desired look of a bride is to often be viewed as gentle and angelic which means brush strokes should be feathery with a small amount of product put on. You can always go back for more but you can never go back for less.

The areas of focus for brightening should be the eyes and inner parts of the face. Darker shadows are usually reserved for more dramatic looks, whereas neutral shades can be given dimension with some darker tones, while still maintaining the bridal appearance. The goal is to illuminate, highlight, and focus attention on the bright points of the face. It is important to remember that darkening the face too much, ages and hides any natural beauty that is trying to be showcased.

Detailing requires a good eye for precision, quality brushes, and a balanced hand. It is the difference between adding another strip lash because the shape of the lash line would be more uniform or deciding it looks pleasing enough and leaving “as is.” It is about correcting any undefined eyeliner, blending lashes, foundation, lips, or eyebrows until all is acceptable for the many close ups a photographer will take at different angles. Being mindful of these things are not only appreciated by clients but also make for a beautiful presentation of personal artistry.

With this said, more time also does not necessarily mean that the quality of work is lesser than, but let me share what spending less time on services means for me and other artists..

We are organized and clean. Our kit is orderly and everything is where we can easily access it. This makes for smooth sailing when it comes to providing services. There is no digging or hassle, we have a routine and this eliminates extra time spent on unneeded tasks.

We have go to looks that we have spent time perfecting and providing you as options (often including pictures along with descriptions.) These specific looks have a process that we have crafted to better serve and reflect the current trends and desires of most brides and bridesmaids. This saves the back and forth banter as well as uncertainty when a bride is looking for guidance and advice.

Communication is clear. If there is one thing to remember, it is that if we are not fully disclosing the process of our work and all details, this leaves room for misunderstandings and undesirable outcomes. We want to make sure everything is concise and the bride is being walked through a very personal representation of herself for her wedding day.
