In this workshop we will discuss the energetic, physical, mental and emotional aspects of the season to better understand how we may individually cycle through it. Chelsea will share with you beneficial activities and habits to best nurture your internal rhythm to keep you in sync with the gentle pull of the energies of the world.
Topics and activities covered include:
The energy of the seasons
8 cycles of the year
Current astrological overview
Journeying meditation
Autumn spiritual altar
Supportive dietary and lifestyle habits
If you plan to attend please bring: an apple, a candle, one or two small possessions that are precious to you that remind of colder months, one or two pieces of nature (stone, shell, flower, leaf, etc.), pen and paper.

Prerequisite: Previous experience with Barratt Breathwork through workshops, classes, and/or private sessions.

This weekend workshop offers a rich and transformative environment in which to explore the subtle and profound teachings the breath has to offer. It combines a progressive sequence of contemplative breath practices with formal meditation to provide an experiential framework for cultivating a deep inner stillness. In this stillness, one awakens to a presence of consciousness that resides deep within—awake, fully alert, and resting in self-awareness. Emphasis is on exploring the spiritual dimensions of the breath.

A group of determined animal rescue volunteers in Hampton Roads is working to relocate cats that currently live un-owned outside on a local Naval base. Yin Yoga is a yoga practice that stimulates and opens the energy meridians of the subtle body and releases stagnation in the connective tissues, primarily the fascia. It has been described as as a "needless acupuncture session" for the body. Yin yoga promotes a wider range of motion in the joints and flexibility of the muscle tissues. Yoga Nidra promotes a deep state of relaxation and ease that shifts the nervous system to a restorative and healing mode. In this workshop we will do an hour long Yin practice followed by Yoga Nidra and a brief sitting meditation. Join us for an experience of dropping into spacious stillness.

Feeling overworked, stressed, or depleted? Join us for a two hour practice emphasizing the Water Phase of Yin Yoga. In Chinese medicine, the Water Phase corresponds with winter and with the Kidney and Urinary Bladder Meridians. The Kidneys, known as "The Roots of Life," house the body's main reservoir of power and any imbalances in this meridian can quickly cause imbalances to other systems. The Urinary Bladder meridian corresponds with the nervous system and can either bring about high amounts of stress when out of balance or when in balance, this meridian brings about rest and relaxation. This Water Phase sequence stimulates these two meridians bringing about a sense of balance, vitality, and energetic flow that can get depleted during the winter season and stress. The Yang portion of this class will concentrate on not only strengthening but stimulating the meridians and tissues that will be targeted in the yin portion. Join us this Saturday!
