Massage therapy is very beneficial in treating frozen shoulder as it increases the blood circulation to the injured region and also reduces the formation of scar tissue. Regular massage should be done to reduce the muscle stiffness. The pain and stiffness usually gets relieved after several massage treatments.

As you have seen in many of the Service related businesses there are longer waits to order a meal, get your car serviced, and yes even get a massage.

Many independent Licensed Massage Therapists and even larger "big box" massage business models have seen an increase of clients in their practice. As a result, availability can be a bit further out. For me, it's about 3 to 4 weeks out. I know it can be frustrating especially when clients have to cancel and reschedule to find that they need to wait to get back in. We (therapists) are doing the best we can.

I offer a waiting list that will notify clients when an appointment becomes available due to someone canceling or rescheduling. Unfortunately this doesn't always work when someone cancels last minute with less than 24 hours to notify others that would be happy to take that space on the massage table. (There is a cancellation charge to help offset.)

You can schedule online and if you can't find that time that you really wanted or just want to be notified when unexpected openings happen, check out the Waiting List option.

What is reiki? A look at the energy-healing practice of touch

The Today show did a story on Reiki. I would say it's not really about transferring energy from the practitioner (me) to the recipient(you), rather it is my experience to help guide what is needed for you.

As stated in their article below, Reiki can be all about relaxing. And I would like to add that Reiki can be about breathing, about meditation, about specific conditions, about self discovery, about healing and health.

Reiki can be hands on with gentle touch and the laying of hands. It can also include no touch with the hands above the body. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki can also include massage called Ketsueki Kokan Ho or Kekko technique that stimulates circulation.

Distance Reiki is also another way to connect with Life Force Energy. In pre-covid times, I would connect with a client before hand to set an intention or something specific to work on if needed (anything from relaxation to something more specific). In current times distance work can be done face to face using a video call, over the phone, or traditional methods.

I am a Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master taught through the William Rand methods. I have studied under fantastic and knowledgeable Masters. In addition to being a Reiki practitioner I am also an instructor teaching Reiki in person and online to those wanting to use Reiki for themselves and their families and also to other practitioners that want to include Reiki in their practice.

For me, I find it more comfortable than compression socks when I can just do the tape and Manual Lymphatic Massage to help drain the lymphatic fluids. And I can wear it for days, shower, swim, whatever. And it's a great conversation starter 💆‍♀️I told my daughter it would look great with my dress at the wedding 🤣

Your rotator cuff is made up of muscles and tendons that keep the ball (head) of your upper-arm bone (humerus) in your shoulder socket. It also helps you raise and rotate your arm.

Each one of these muscles is part of the rotator cuff and plays an important role:

Supraspinatus. This holds your humerus in place and keeps your upper arm stable. And helps lift your arm.

Infraspinatus. This is the main muscle that lets you rotate and extend your shoulder.

Teres Minor. This is the smallest rotator cuff muscle. Its main job is to assist with rotation of the arm away from the body.

Subscapularis. This holds your upper arm bone to your shoulder blade and helps you rotate your arm, hold it straight out and lower it.
