Remembering those who gave all.

Virginia Senator Mark Warner recorded a special message of support and encouragement as we continue to get through this uncertain time together. Take a listen.
Sen. Warner sends a special message to long term care residents and staff.
Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter!
As our teams continue to show their strength and wholehearted commitment to caring for our patients and residents during these uncertain times, we wanted to share this message of gratitude and encouragement from Virginia Senator Tim Kaine. Take a listen.
Senator Kaine offers words of encouragement to residents in Virginia's nursing homes, assisted living, and long term care facilities and thanks the frontline...
We understand the importance of staying connected during these uncertain times. While we work to ensure your loved ones are cared for, we would like to sincerely thank our center’s families, friends, and our community for your unwavering support. Take a listen to this message from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and be sure to call us to schedule a virtual visitation with your loved one soon.
𝗕𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘆! We have gone to great lengths to ensure that our residents continue to feel engaged, even while visitation is restricted. With so many in our community spending time at home, 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂!

Thank you to those who have already shared. There can never be too many bright spots in our center, so please keep them coming!
Although we are limiting visitation to prevent unnecessary exposure to COVID-19 we have plenty of opportunities in place to keep spirits up! Our residents are able to take advantage of our exclusive Activities in Motion programs that help cultivate good physical health, spiritual well-being and continue to foster life-long interests.

We wanted to take a moment to share with you the President's address from earlier today. After taking his comments into consideration, along with the CMS and CDC guidelines, we decided to further limit visitation to our center in order to protect our patients from potential exposure.
You can see the full clip here:
Pursuant to regulatory advice and in order to continue to ensure the well-being of our residents and staff, we have made the decision to restrict all visitation temporarily at this time. This decision comes amid statewide concerns over respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.
Like you, our top priority is the care of your loved one and we want you to feel confident that our patients are continuing to receive the highest level of care. We trust that you will understand this measure is being put in place for their protection. There are interim electronic options for virtual visitation and we will be glad to work to put you in contact with your loved one by one of these methods.
There will be circumstances when an in-person visit is necessary and in these instances we will facilitate a complete screening to appropriately ensure continued safety. Please contact the Center should you need emergency consideration.
We are continuing to follow CDC and CMS infection control protocols in the Center and are continuously reviewing our internal systems and policies with all staff.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time as we take this and all necessary precautions to ensure the health and well-being of everyone at our Center.
An important update on the precautionary measures we are taking to limit the spread of all viruses, especially Coronavirus (COVID-19), to our residents, staff, and visitors.
At this time, we are discouraging all visitation per CMS and CDC recommendations and guidelines. We are also asking that only immediate family members visit, if necessary, and that they make sure to fill out our screening questionnaire before every visit. Immediate family members must answer whether they are sick, if they have traveled outside the U.S. in the past 14 days, and if they have had contact with someone who has been diagnosed or is under investigation for COVID-19. Those who answer yes to any of the screening questions or show signs of illness will be asked to postpone their visit. If your visitation is restricted, we will help you communicate with your loved one by phone.
In addition, we are limiting entry of visitors to ONE entrance. The designated entrance will be the area where our Service Ambassador is. We are also restricting our visitation hours to times when our Service Ambassador is working.
Everyone in our Center (staff, residents, families, volunteers, contractors, vendors, outside specialties, providers, etc.) are being asked to limit physical contact while in our Center. For example, hand-shaking and hugging should not take place. We are encouraging 6 feet spatial distance when appropriate.
As a reminder, if you are an immediate family member of a resident and must visit, please make use of hand sanitizer available at the front desk or wash your hands prior to every visit.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we take all necessary precautions to ensure the health and well-being of everyone at our Center.
A quick update on what we’re doing to limit the spread of viruses, especially Coronavirus, to our residents, staff, and visitors. You may have noticed our signs asking anyone who is sick to please stay home. We are also asking all visitors and staff to answer a few questions including if they feel sick, if they have traveled outside the U.S. in the past 14 days, and if they have had contact with someone who has been diagnosed or is under investigation for COVID-19. Anyone who answers yes to the questions will be asked to postpone their visit, or will be sent home until further notice. As an extra precaution, we are also asking all visitors to use the hand sanitizer we have provided as they enter our center and when they leave. Still, it’s important to stress that the best defense is to wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds to effectively kill any germs or viruses.
We want you to know we are following CDC and CMS infection control protocols, and have reviewed our internal systems and policies with all staff. We are continuously monitoring CDC and the Virginia Department of Health for any new recommendations.
We will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the health and well-being of our residents, staff, and visitors and will update you should changes occur. Thank you!
You’re probably hearing a lot about the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. With the attention on it, we want to let all of our families know we’re proactively taking steps to limit the spread of viruses, especially Coronavirus, to our residents, staff, and visitors. You can help us by continuing to practice good hygiene! This includes washing your hands often for at least 20 seconds, and using alcohol-based hand sanitizer. If you’re visiting our center, stop by our front desk for some sanitizer and be sure to say hello to our Service Ambassador! If you have a cough, remember to cough into the fold of your arm. If you’re sick, please stay home, rest up and plan to visit our center when you’re all better.
Thank you for helping us reduce the spread of viruses!
Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy 2020!
From our family to yours...
Our patient choice for November is one of our 7-3pm CNA’s, Jaymia (Mia) Keene! Some wonderful things our patients had to say about her this month include, “A very pleasant and caring assistant who was always available to offer care,” and “A very nice assistant who provided care for my mother with personal needs.” Mia always makes sure she provides the best quality of care possible for her patients. Whether it’s making sure they are groomed properly or that they are comfortable and in bed when they first ask. Her quality of care goes a long way and she is consistently mentioned on our patient discharge surveys! Our patients and employees are thankful to have Mia on our team! Way to go, Mia! Keep up the good work!
A huge congratulations goes out to Veronica Fojas, our November Employee of the Month! Veronica is our Service Ambassador and Payroll for Bayside. Most recently she has received the Service Ambassador position as a companywide change from Receptionist. Service Ambassadors play an important role as the first and last person our patients see when they come in and leave the facility. She has gotten the opportunity to connect more with our patients and make sure they have the resources they need to enjoy their time here, and be comfortable going home. All of our patients have given positive feedback on her connections with them! Despite having her title, and position change a bit, Veronica is on top of her work! She is eager to help out and always is willing to take on additional tasks, always in a timely manner. She truly knows what it is like to contribute to the dream team and we sure are thankful to have someone like her on our team! Veronica goes above and beyond every time, and for that, we thank you!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!

Please join us in congratulating Sarah Oblinski, our October Employee of the Month! Sarah is one of our CNA’s on our 7-3pm shift and was chosen for her excellence in service. Although she just recently started here, she has exceeded the quality of care that we provide at Bayside! Believe it or not, this is her first position as a CNA! That speaks volumes! Her customer service is one of a kind and our patients are happy to have her providing care for them. They smile because they know she will do her best to meet their needs. Her coworkers are also grateful to have someone ready and willing to jump in and help whenever and wherever needed!
We are thankful to have Sarah here! She is a team player and a great addition to our Bayside Dream Team! She goes above and beyond every time, and for that, we thank you Sarah!

We’re shouting Happy Birthday to our wonderful Administrator, Raven Powell! We hope you have a fantastic one, Raven! 🎈 🥳
To all of our veterans, we thank you for your bravery and service to our country.
Our patient choice for September is one of our 7-3pm CNA’s, Tim Blunt! We are thankful to have Tim on our dream team for his positive attitude, willingness to help, and his pride in caring for our patients. He is a team player! Some of the wonderful things our patients said about Tim were statements like, “A very dependable and friendly assistant who is always available to help me with my personal needs,” as well as, “He was very helpful and always present to assist me with my care.” They also had compliments such as, “He is always helping me with my clothes and getting out of bed. He is very nice to me.”
Tim always makes it a point to care for his patients to the best of his ability. It truly shows when you visit with them or ask him to assist with their care.
Way to go, Tim! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
Please join us in congratulating Kymberly Nash, our September Employee of the Month! Kym is one of our housekeepers and this month she is celebrating a year of employment at Bayside. You may recognize her, but she loves changing up her hair, which is something unique about her that we also love! She typically works evenings and is always willing and available to help out. Whether it be a room change that is required to be cleaned or going about her regular job duties, she works hard to get the job done! You can guarantee that she will come in with a smile and leave for the day with the same positive attitude that she walked in the door with! We are thankful to have someone like Kym on our team, her work ethic is one of a kind. She makes sure the job is done correctly and in a professional manner, every time! Kym goes above and beyond, and for that, we thank you!
Our Halloween theme this year was Bayside's Zoo! We had a gift shop, zoo keepers, crazy zoo animals, and some friends stop by to see the zoo animals along the way! We loved doing our annual door decorating contest, and this year we had fun trying to maintain the animals in the Bayside Zoo! Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!
We hope you have a fun and safe Halloween!
We wanted to congratulate our Rehab Department for receiving the golden pen award, meaning each individual therapist scored >90% on their documentation for the quarter! This is another consecutive win for the Rehab team at Bayside to receive this award. We are so thankful for their hard work and continued progression with documentation. We can’t thank them enough for their dedication and commitment to our building and patients! Pictures are from our Rehab Appreciation Week. :)
We got the opportunity to celebrate our September service awards for employees last month. Our theme was Taco Bout' a Fiesta! We got to play different fiesta themed games, as well as enjoy a delicious taco bar made by our awesome kitchen staff! Although we always enjoy having a good time at Bayside, we have service awards twice a year and it allows for us to take time out of our hectic schedules to reflect on employees who have dedicated their time and service to Bayside. Thank you again to everyone who participated and those who received awards. Your hard work never goes unnoticed and we thank you everyday for caring for our patients and working as a team to make the Bayside Dream Team possible!
Our Patient Choice for August is one of our 3-11pm CNA’s, Maxine Jones! Throughout her time here she has received Employee of the Month, and numerous mentions in our Patient Discharge surveys.
