Jazz at Lincoln Center: Wendell Pierce, renowned actor, producer, and longtime friend of Jazz at Lincoln Center, dropped by as the JLCO rehearsed ’ “Afro!,” which the Orchestra will world premiere on Sept. 18-20.
Wendell’s longtime collaborations with Jazz at Lincoln Center have resulted in incredible broadcast programs, live performances, and recordings.
A passionate advocate for the music, Pierce narrated the JLCO w/ Wynton Marsalis’ “The Ever Fonky Lowdown” and has frequently lent his voice and presence to the organization’s work, underscoring his commitment to jazz as both an art form and a cultural force.
