When my sistergirl needed help updating her headshots I was all in. This girl literally pores into everyone else so much so I wanted to make sure she not only loved her headshots but felt totally pampered during the entire process. I had the pleasure of doing her cut, color, HMU and got behind the camera to capture these beautiful photos - although I have to admit I couldn’t have gotten such beautiful shots without the photography master herself helping give direction while still posing effortlessly in front of the camera. Truly I live for creative days like this and the hustle is always worth it. 🤍

With Valentine’s Day approaching I was inspired to create this soft and dreamy makeup look 😍 how pretty?! I’ll be posting a tutorial on how on this look later this evening so if you’re interested in recreating it for yourself keep an eye out to save it and follow along 😘

Let’s talk skin ⬇️
I get questions all the time asking if I’m able to cover up breakouts, melasma, rosacea etc. the short answer is “Yes I am” but it’s usually texture that’s the toughest to camouflage. When approaching skin like my beautiful client above it’s incredibly important to prep the skin well. I’m a big believer that a good makeup artist will always have the best skin care in their kit. Honestly. If it’s not starting great it not going to end great. Usually when I have a client that has skin like hers or similar, I’ll start by having them put a mask on to help reduce inflammation and redness and follow that with a light exfoliating face wash. Then I go in with toner, a hydrating serum and a moisturizer - making sure they have at least 10 minutes to let that all sink in to their skin before I start makeup is huge. Next is choosing the right primer for their skin type. Another thing I’m super adamant about is having multiple different primers in your make up kit. A lot of times I use two different primers on the same face. Doing that helps so much with correcting texture. I guarantee you if I had not done any of those steps before her make up application the end result would not have been as good. Can you still see some texture ? Sure! But at the end of the day texture is NORMAL and she looked incredible nonetheless.
