Meet Kandice, our Legacy Guest.

A working mom of three grown children, Kandice has been part of the Root family from the very beginning. Her connection to Root goes even further back. She was our CEO Kate’s cheer coach, her children grew up coming here for haircuts with Shiloh, and she even worked in our building when it was an election office, long before it became Root.

When we asked Kandice what keeps her coming back, her answer was simple: the people. She says she feels like family every time she walks through the door—welcomed, accepted, and genuinely cared for. Facials and massages are among her favorite services, but she loves trying just about anything we offer. “You can’t beat the services, people, and providers,” she says.

One of the most meaningful parts of Kandice’s Root journey began when she attended a Be Still class with Leah. From there, she signed up for health coaching, started attending fitness classes, and fell in love with the heart behind Revelation Wellness. What began with simply showing up has grown into something much bigger. Kandice is now a RevWell Coach and will soon be teaching fitness classes in Fayette!

We love seeing how Root can become a starting point for something new, and Kandice is such a beautiful example. When asked what she would tell younger women, she shared words that feel like a reflection of her own journey:

“Do not be afraid. You can do it! Don’t let your younger self convince you to not do something. With the Lord, you can do anything, and it’s never too late to start something new.”

We keep a prayer journal at Root for the prayer requests our guests share with us.

Throughout the week, members of our team take time on their own to read through those requests and pray for them. We also come back to them together during our team meetings.

There’s no big program around it. No perfect words required.

It’s simply one of the ways we care for the people who trust us with what’s happening in their lives.

If you’ve ever written something in that journal, we want you to know: we really do read it. And we really do pray for you and for the people who are wanting to add to it, we really encourage you to lean on the community around you and add to it. Whether you include your name or make it anonymous, just know there truly is power in prayer.
