Recently, I have gotten questions from Shellac clients with regard to the safety of the UV lamp that is used to cure the polish. This is a link to an article which provides some facts about the level of UV exposure from a Shellac manicure or pedicure and how it compares to tanning beds or regular everyday outdoor exposure. I do not provide any services to clients which I believe to be harmful to the skin or nails. I do also have sunscreen available in the salon to apply on hands or feet prior to the service if it is an issue of concern.
