Two weeks update! Did I completely stop my Zoysia grass from crawling into the mulch beds??
Let's find out!

The grind is way to hard, I won't give it up!

I cut the grass yesterday, so today I'm weed-eating, edging, and blowing.
Healthy grass? That’s the part that keeps me on my toes. I can feel like I'm doing everything right, then walk outside the very next day and see something that makes me say, “Now where did THIS come from?”

And as frustrating as that can be, I actually enjoy the problem-solving part. Every problem teaches me something.

It hits different when you can look around your yard and know you did that. Everything you see came from me putting in that work.

Soft Life Yard Hack #8 for 2026: A garage screen. 🙌🏾

I spend a LOT of time in the garage before and after working in the yard. I sit at my little table, change clothes, cool down, journal, and sometimes just sit for a while before going inside.

The problem? In the summertime, that garage gets HOT, and I never felt comfortable leaving the door wide open after a frog, lizard, and a bird decided to come inside 🤦🏿‍♀️.

Now I can raise the garage door, let the sunlight and fresh air in, get some airflow while I cool down, and keep the little visitors OUT.
Anything that makes yard life easier and more comfortable gets added to my Soft Life Yard list.

A $1,000 lawnmower cannot save bad grass.

I hadn’t used my Craftsman mower since the July 1st, so today I folded up the EGO, pulled the Craftsman out, and gave her a little action.

And baby… she did NOT disappoint.

Which just proves my point: you do not need an expensive lawnmower to have a beautiful lawn.
The GRASS comes first.
Take care of your grass, and I swear you could cut it with a pair of scissors and it’s still going to look good.

People overcomplicate cutting grass. Cutting the grass is probably the easiest thing I do in this entire yard. You literally walk back and forth and push the mower. There’s not much to figure out.

The complicated part is getting the grass healthy and KEEPING it healthy. AND BAY-BEE, IT AIN'T EASY!

Learning your soil. Figuring out your watering. Knowing when to fertilize. Dealing with weeds, fungus, insects, heat, shade, roots, drainage… THAT’S the work.

Because once you’ve done that part, the lawn mower is just the cherry on top. 🍒
Today my Craftsman reminded me of that.

✅️ Dollar Spot treated....
Now I'm going back in the house!
Today was the hottest day of 2026! At least it felt like it was 🤷🏿‍♀️🥵🔥

Results are in!

With both zones running, this area is getting about 0.39 inches of water per 30 mins.

Because of the large loropetalums and all those established roots competing for moisture, this strip may need a little more water than the rest of the lawn.
So for the next two weeks, I have created a schedule in my watering app.

Based on the measurements, that should give this area about 1.17 inches of water per week.
Now we watch and see if the grass responds. 👀🌱

This is the amount of direct sunlight the stressed area is getting.
It doesn't get full sun until about 2:45pm. The sun sets around 7:00pm.
I don't think sun is the main culprit. But I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to lower the loropetalums again.

I don't know what to say at this point. 😓
Because HOW are we back here again?!
I have done everything I could think of to give this area the best possible outcome.
I’m not giving up.

If you shop at the West Columbia, South Carolina Walmart on Augusta Rd, let me know when they mark down this mulch. Thank you in advance. 🙂😊

When I decided to become a content creator earlier this year, I had to decide who I was going to be on social media.

I've had my Buffie the Body social media pages for a while, but they mostly just sat there. I never had any interest in going backward and trying to recreate 2005 Buffie the Body. That wasn't who I was anymore, and to be honest, that persona was never the full picture of who I was to begin with.
I never set out to become a video model. The opportunity happened, I embraced it, I made money from it, and I ran with it. And when the money slowed down, I walked away from the industry and never looked back.

So when I came back to social media, I didn't want to play a character. I wanted to be me.
I kept the name Buffie the Body because it's a name I built, it's been trademarked for years, and it makes it easy for people who remember me to find me.

But Buffie the Body is a brand.
Buffie Lewis is a real person.
And that is who you're seeing now.
I know some people came to my page expecting one thing and were probably completely confused when they found me cutting grass, trimming bushes, building things, fixing things around my house, working on projects and walking around looking exactly how I look on an ordinary day. But this isn't a content strategy I invented. This is my actual life. If social media disappeared tomorrow, I would still be outside doing the same things you see me doing in these videos. I would still be working on my house. I would still be in my yard. I would still be building, learning and researching.

There are plenty of half-naked women on social media. There are plenty of fashion pages, makeup tutorials, hair videos, cooking videos and perfectly styled lives.

I don't need to compete with any of that. I know there is something far more freeing about showing up as the person I already am instead of trying to become the person people remember or the person they expect me to be.

I kept the name. But I changed the story. Welcome to my world.
This time, you're actually meeting me.
In a world where so many people are trying to be something else, I'm in a lane where there's no competition. I'm just being me.
