It's late but it's still tuesday.

I think this tip is pretty self explanatory. If you continually make unhealthy eating choices, it's going to have repercussions soon or in the much later future.
Somethings to do to promote healthy eating is to cut down on refined sugars, find the diets that works for you ;don't go on trends just because, figure out what exactly your body likes by monitoring the way it reacts.
Another thing is to incorporate superfoods such as turmeric, green tea or kale into your diet.

With adequate research, one can find the certain vitamins that are also beneficial to the beauty aspects of the body. Some of the the ones I've heard about include avocados, walnuts and sunflower seeds.

I used to be so guilty of this when I first went natural. It felt liberating for me to wash my hair every day. It took a while for me to realize that I had left washing my hair daily because I wanted to wash it because I had to. If I didn’t wash my hair, I couldn’t get a comb through it because it became a matted clump of rubbish when I woke up. I kept at it not realizing that the reason why my hair was so dry because I kept washing it.

It took a while but I finally realized that I was actually driving out all chances of my hair being moisturized by "over-cleansing”. I had gone a week without washing my hair onetime because I was too busy and was amazed at how different my hair felt so I finally did some research and realized that washing my hair so often was actually detrimental to its health.
So this is what I learned,
1. There are various things to put into consideration when deciding a wash schedule for your hair such as hair type, how often you exercise or sweat or how oily your scalp gets.
2. Some people need to wash a little more often to give life to their hair and cleanse all the grease. People with finer hair textures are more often in this category.
3. Other people need to wash their hair less often because washing often rides them all-natural oils that can keep their hair healthy and moisturized. People with curly or coily hair are usually more in this category.
4. If you naturally have dry hair, do not, I repeat. Do not wash your hair daily. Stretch out your wash days till you can't stretch it anymore.
5. If you have to wash your hair often because you sweat a lot, for instance, try to limit the use of shampoo and just to a conditioner was or a deep rinse.
Ultimately, very few people need to wash daily. Washing daily in most cases leave your hair extremely dry and brittle which would then lead to breakage and other problems.

It's week 5!

So Imma make this quick only because I actually already have a youtube video on this topic so you can head over there for more information on this.

There is common knowledge that "trimming your your make it longer". A lot of people are aware of this fact but do not understand how it's plausible. It's actually quite simple; trimming your hair promotes health, with healthy hair comes length retention amongst other things.
Some of the other benefits of hair trimming is prevention of splitends, single & double strand knots, frizz, and breakage, volume, easier detangling, moisture retention e.t.c

Not to say that trimming is the solution to all your hair problems but when you trim you get rid of these problems before they form or cause any more damage to your hair(if they have already formed).

I go into more details in my video so make sure you check it out.

Important read. I believe the general public is becoming more aware of the need of the use of sunscreen for everyone. EVERYONE. If you aren't, I have just a few things to tell you that I think should convince you otherwise.
For the longest time, I believed that as a person of color, I didn't need sunscreen and it's a very common misconception. Let me know in the comments if you also shared that misconception

A lot of people believe that suncreen is to protect you from sunburn (which it is) but it does a lot more than that. Even if you don’t get easily sunburned, you can still get other sun damage which unlike sunburn can affect your skin over the course of a lifetime. Although skin cancer is more prevalent in people with lighter skin, It can still affect those with darker skin. When you use sunscreen daily, come sunshine, clouds or rain, you reduce your risk of developing melanoma which is one of the the deadliest types of Cancer.

Suncreen also does good things for your skin like keep your skin tone even by preventing the forming of facial brown spots and skin discolorations and hyperpigmentation. It also protects us from UVB rays and in some cases UVA rays which in turn slows down signs of premature aging.

When choosing a sunscreen, make sure you choose one best suited for your needs and put into consideration things such as skin type, the level of sun exposure, activities you'll engage in and the use or method of application you would prefer. There are lotions, sprays, spot and roll-ons, and built-in (with other products such as moisturizer or foundation) sunscreens. Try as much as possible to reapply every two hours you're exposed and when you go for a swim.

There are other ways to protect yourself from the sun as well and it's often a good idea to use them together when possible such as stay under a shade, or wearing protective clothing.
So please, arm yourselves with Sunscreen!

Long Caption ⚠️
I don't know who needs to hear this it's not going to be easy. Let me know what your thoughts are.

This one was particularly difficult for me to handle, the first time I heard about it, my brain was like "do away with this very handy makeup remover, oh no, I think not" but the seed has been planted so I grudgingly decided to find out what all the fuss was about. At this point, I was only just starting my skincare journey so everything I found out just made me straight up pi**ed. How could these companies know all this and keep these things on the shelves? I immediately got rid of all my make up wipes. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have wasted money like that cause I could have found other uses for them but my brain was in overdrive.

Anyway, let's get into some of the reasons why you really need to keep those things as far away from your skin as possible.

Makeup wipes are just another way to smear makeup across your skin, sure it may look like it's taking it off but have you ever wondered why you use 1, 2, 3, 4 sometimes 5, wipes and you still always get more makeup coming off and off with each use? Here's a clue! It's not removing the makeup! You're just moving irritants and makeup residue around and probably pushing them more into your pores (keeping your pores clogged hello!).

You also end up swiping, rubbing and scrubbing which already negates being gentle with your skin leaving your skin irritated in the long run. If you're someone who uses eye makeup especially, no matter how gentle you are, you have to apply some amount of pressure to get the mascaras and the liners off if you don't want to end up looking like a raccoon. That's going to lead to some tugging and rubbing which is, in turn, going lead to wrinkles and fine lines.

The amount of bad stuff ( so much you can't begin to imagine) found in makeup wipes which are supposed to be cleaning agents are also not things that we want to keep on our skin.

That is not to say that you shouldn't keep them handy for emergency situations, just make sure that if ever you use them, you follow up as soon as possible with a proper skin care regimen.
