We can't emphasize enough how important it is to move your body each day.

Movement, even if it's not a strenuous exercise program, helps in the following ways:

✅ MUSCLES: Movement strengthens muscles and improves stability, balance, and coordination.

✅ BONES: Movement helps build stronger, more durable bones and helps prevent osteoporosis.

✅ JOINTS: Movement can increase flexibility and range-of-motion, which can also help with joint flexibility and joint function.

✅ BRAIN: Moving can promote the release of endorphins, which help lift our mood.

✅ HEART: Regular movement can decrease your risk of heart disease and improve your overall heart health.

✅ LUNGS: Movement that increases your heart rate can also improve your respiratory endurance.

One of the biggest obstacles I hear from new clients usually is "What do I eat?".

When first starting to make diet changes, we understand that it can be difficult figuring out what's ok to eat and what should maybe be moved away from...especially when folks might have been eating one particular way for most of their lives.

So we thought we'd share our own family menu for this week on and give you some ideas.

Is it perfect? Heavens no.

But it's what 2 😴 tired 😴 parents of 3 littles with a new{ish} business can handle right now.

And no, Friday is not a typo. 😉 It's every man for himself around here by Friday night.

We hope this menu gives you some ideas of things you can try out in your own homes. After all, that was our goal in opening -- to share what we've learned and done in hopes to encourage and empower others to take charge of their health. 🎉

We're happy to share any and all recipes with you if you're interested, too.

You can also follow our Pinterest page for lots of different recipe ideas, too! Link in our bio.

There are 👏🏾MANY👏🏾 reasons that physical therapy can benefit you; today on , we want to highlight 6 of those reasons that we find have most helped our patients.⁣

1️⃣ PT can help prevent injuries. If you move well, you’re less likely to hurt yourself. ⁣

2️⃣ PT can improve your mobility. When you’re not hurting, you can move more, and you reap the benefits of being more active.⁣

3️⃣ PT can decrease your risk of falling and subsequently hurting yourself because it focuses on enhancing your coordination and balance. ⁣

4️⃣ PT can at times prevent surgery and help you avoid taking prescriptions. It’s a natural, more holistic approach to healing your pain. ⁣

5️⃣ When in PT, you can improve your ability to move and be active, which can improve your blood pressure and increase your muscular strength.⁣

6️⃣ With the right PT (good thing we know one 😉) and treatment, your pain can be decreased and eliminated. You don’t have to live in pain.⁣

Curious about how you can move better or get out of pain? Give us a call and set up your initial visit with Phillip.⁣

Early in my (Claire) journey of Hashimoto's, I often had people tell me, "You'll either spend the money now getting well and being healthy or on your illness one day."

And honestly, I remember that saying just flat out made me mad at times. But I think...well, I now know...that it made me mad because I knew it was true. And knowing that truth then meant that I had to accept some responsibility in my health and my journey to be healthy.

Now understanding that health is something we work toward every day has shifted our focus. We recognize that health is not something where you can say "I'm healthy because I don't have XYZ...". Health is an act of pursuing to be well.

If you're not sure exactly where to start in your health journey, we can help with that. I am offering a 🎉FREE🎉 workshop on nutrition this Saturday and would love to have you join me. We'll cover some of the basics and good starting points for making positive changes in your health.

Get to know Phillip before you work with him as a PT! 👋🏽

Phillip is passionate about helping others heal and stop living in pain. Whether you suffer from neck pain, migraines, back pain, knee pain, or even chronic pain, reach out to us and let Phillip personalize a plan for how to help you feel better.

One thing we can promise you: he won't try to sell you something he's not or doesn't offer. Claire likes to call him Honest Abe (which she finds a bit annoying sometimes as a wife, but also admirable when working with him 😁). If our treatment isn't the right plan for you, Phillip will be the first to tell you and help you find support in another place or location.

So, what other questions do you have for Phillip? They can be funny or serious...

➡️ Head over to our stories and interact with us today! We love hearing from you all.

Sounds easier said than done, right? 😬

When we started our health journey after Claire's diagnosis, we felt completely overwhelmed with what to eat (or not eat), how to prepare food, and how to keep our heads above water every day.

Over time, we did start to figure it out by making all of our changes into new habits and patterns in our lives. And we want to help you do the same!

🧐 Curious about what the first steps would be in making new habits that are healthier for you, easy to do right now, and more affordable?

On this , let's talk about energy.

Anyone else feel like the "spring" 🌧 weather (with not much ☀️) has zapped their energy? We are definitely ready for more regular sunshine over here...which can lead to higher levels of energy.

But in the meantime, while we wait on that lovely ☀️, here are 7 ways that you can raise your energy on a daily basis:

1️⃣ Breathwork: Disarms your sympathetic response. Try inhaling for 4 seconds, holding for 7 seconds, and then slowly exhaling for 8 seconds.

2️⃣ Meditate: Even if only for 10 minutes per day. Close your eyes and take a moment to rest your mind.

3️⃣ Sing: Anyone up for singing as loud as you can in the car? There's something cathartic about it.

4️⃣ Give: Participating in different acts of kindness actually creates a physical response in your body by promoting the release of certain neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters can elevate your mood and energy. More than that, it's what our world needs most right now. 💜

5️⃣ Go Outside: Nature is your best friend. While waiting on that ☀️ to come out more often and produce more vitamin D in your body, you can take advantage of grounding (go outside, take your shoes off if it's not freezing, and walk around a little bit on the grass).

6️⃣ Tapping: This is a new one for us, but you can Google more on tapping (or we'll feature a post on it soon). Tapping helps you get out of fight or flight mode and rebalance your body.

7️⃣ Exercise: No matter what form you choose, moving your body is great for producing those neurotransmitters again that elevate your energy.
