Being Comfortable in Your Own Skin
We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to reach this magical number on the scale either our doctor or we ourselves determined to be our "goal weight" and we have ourselves convinced that when we reach this weight, life will be different, we will be different and we will like ourselves and our bodies
This may be true for a little while, however, once the weight is lost...this is now the time to rebuild our relationship with ourselves and relearn how to see and speak to ourselves.
THIS is when we start to feel comfortable in our own skin, we like the person we are because we BUILT OURSELVES and the lige we live and thats something to feel proud of.
You weight loss is an incredible achievement, relearning how to truly love the body you live in...this is the ultimate goal!

It doesnt always have to be food but when there is something that becomes so important, you depend so much on it that you will lie to yourself and your family...surgery doesnt just make that disappear...
As uncomfortable as it is. Find out WHY you always seek food for numbing, escape, a good high, maybe even a full-body delightful experience. Food will ALWAYS be there and just because you dont use it to cope anymore doesnt mean you wont find something else to help you cope instead...

Most people think transformation means changing your body.
An impressive before and after photo is amazing!
BUT
A transformation happens when you become someone capable of things you couldn't do before.
It's learning new habits.
It's building confidence.
It's keeping promises to yourself.
It's growing into the person your goals require you to become.
The results people see on the outside are often just proof of the work that happened on the inside.

After losing 250lbs and keeping it off for 13 YEARS....theres is nothing easy about building a body, a life and a person we are proud of and enjoy living.

Hell, maybe you live in a constant state of it
Just like you recharge your cell phone so it's there when you need to use it...recharge your own battery so you can live the life you enjoy, have energy for the activities that excite you and have the strength to be the wonderful, powerful and fantastic person you are

The KEY to Long Term success
The weight loss phase after bariatric surgery is so exciting and motivating and tends to see the weight loss come off somewhat easily when following the guidance from your doctor or nutritionist or coach
What happens when its LONG TERM and youre wanting to keep the weight OFF....well there is no plan or program out there to follow.
This is when you have to spend time learning your own body, what does it need everyday to move well and feel well. What do you need when youre stressed and overwhelmed and challenging things happen in your life?
Thats why we have to create our OWN plan for ourselves. But this is the hard part. This takes time, is uncomfortable and doesnt come with one definitive answer.
With patience, intention and honest self-awareness youre able to figure out what YOU need everyday, in every situation. When you find what works for YOU youre able to do that for yourself everyday. That leads to building an honest and authentic lifestyle that supports your weight loss and leads to keeping thr weight off for years to come.
After 20 years in a bariatric body, keeping my weight off for over 13 years and learning these lessons, I share this insight with you hoping it offers support and encouragement.

Sit Fit started as a way to learn how to move my body at close to 400lbs, when I was too scared and overwhelmed to go into the gym.
10 years later, it's a popular group fitness class for beginners, seniors, those with mobility challenges and folks looking for a fun, new way to move their bodies!
The seed is planted! Let's see what kind of tree grows and what kind of fitness Forrest I can cultivate.
The goal is to help people feel good and have fun with movement in their daily lifestyle...whatever that looks like for them!

Loneliness
We can be in a room filled with people and still feel alone in our own body.
We get so excited to lose weight and share the physical victories along the way, but, its all so nee...we dont always stop to catchup with how we are doing inside
Our identity, our self-care, how we talk to ourselves...these are all so very important to build in order to be our best support system
You are not alone. I'm here for you. Even if you just need someone to listen. Even if you just need to hear "I know how you feel". This experience is unique snd life-changing. Others dont always understand and Loneliness can creep up on us.
