"Equal Shares" "Share and Share Alike" just pieces of paper that mean nothing. I found the original wills of my parents.

I guess that only meant something to my father when my mother was still alive. She told me a million times as I got older "you better hope I don't die first". That always just seemed like an offhanded quote until she died before my dad. SHE KNEW WHAT HE AND MY BROTHER WOULD DO TO ME! She knew all along, but I didn't. (I have that quote tattooed on my ribs with a dagger going through it, now)

I just blindly trusted the man whose first born child I was. I didn't realize until a friend helped me discover that I was not, in fact, inheriting HALF of the 64 acre plot of land, along with over half a million dollars in assets! (That's just my guess adding up the value of everything I was denied. It's probably closer to 750k!)

Nothing ever clicked with me and now I realize it was due to my AuDHD. When my brother and his family moved in with my father after my mother passed, it still didn't click. When my father refused to let me live with him or even on his land after I finally got free of a domestic violence relationship and moved back to Mississippi, it still didn't click. When my brother threatened to sic his dog on me if I tried to stay on the land, it still didn't click. When my father lied straight to my face about how much land he deeded my brother, the land part clicked but not that I was getting nothing else but the drop in the bucket he gave me, still didn't click. When my brother, after my dad's funeral, stood in front of me and my children and denied me even the small tractor so I could garden, it still didn't click. His quote to that question was "I'm gonna trade it and the big tractor in and get me an enclosed tractor with AC!" Even my children thought I was still gonna get something else out of all those assets.

NOPE, I didn't realize any of it until the day my brother gave me a copy of the new will my dad had made in MAY 2021, four years after my mother passed away.

Did you think there was no point to this post except for me venting my pain? Wrong, my point is to ASK FU***NG QUESTIONS!! If you don't ask questions, you'll never get answers! Keep asking, don't ever stop until someone tells you SOMETHING! Don't be like me and feel like you're greedy for asking. The greedy people will have beat you to the draw!!

In my case, I did ask and got lied to by my father for the 2nd time regarding that same subject. But, I should have kept on, and on and on and made him tell me what a s**tty person he was and what a s**tty thing he had done to his firstborn child! Because, the fact is, if my father thought what he did was right, then why did he lie? Twice?

You can make any excuse you want, Gable Todd, I was and am still the firstborn child of that marital union and I deserved half the inheritance. The fact that you believe you deserved it all should tell everyone exactly what kind of person you are. Throw it all in my face, everything I've done and lived through! I've overcome adversities you could not imagine and I'M STILL HERE! Maybe "losing" that first child you conceived didn't affect you like "losing" mine did me. Who knows? It took me over 30 years to even begin healing because I had no clue I needed to heal. I had no clue all the things I had endured were severe traumas. I was made to believe they were all my fault. I've used it all to empower myself and speaking my truth is how I let it go!

Fight for what's yours, while you still can, people! Once they pass away, it's all over. You won't get any answers and you are stuck with the pain of why your parent would do that to you. I didn't speak to Tom(my dad) for the last year before he died and I do not regret it. But, I do regret not telling him exactly how I felt about it and how ashamed my mother would have been with his ridiculous decisions. I never realized how biased my dad was toward his "boy child" his "male heir" πŸ™„

The more I reflect, the more I see how the misogyny was there all along.....

You can have Todd Hill and all that "stuff" but you'll never have the integrity and authenticity that I have. And that's worth more than a million dollars to me!

Whew, that's been some heavy s**t to carry around, but I feel so much lighter already! And on that note, I think I just might be done airing the family's dirty laundry. Enjoy Ecru!
