Check it out! My first window splash! I've never done this before, and I've always wanted to try it out. The goal was to give the storefront windows some life. And I think my design accomplished that! I'm so pleased with how this turned out and I can't wait to do more! I'll be taking commissions now for spring window splashes. Decisions, decisions. These are some color tests, they're not perfect, but they help me visualize a color scheme. Which one do you like?

Die-cut magnets are now available at my Etsy shop! My mandalas are drawn and colored by hand. Each petal takes layers and layers of colored pencils to achieve dimension. This process takes time and can't be mass-produced. When complete, the mandala is cut out and digitized into the computer.
At this point, I order prints, stickers, and more from a wholesale printer. Having my own inventory is expensive and risky because I never know what will sell. These make great handmade gifts even if you're not the best at making things yourself.
Please feel free to like, share, comment.

Work in progress. Doing linework using a dip pen and India ink. This took an immense amount of concentration to get a good solid line. Whew! Stay tuned to see the final product!

You guys... being an artist is challenging. High-quality art supplies are increasingly expensive. I could choose to be a digital artist because it's free, but I like producing tangible art. I like feeling the pencils scratch the paper. I like seeing the marker ink bleed into the paper. I like seeing the layers of media build up. A single petal of this mandala was colored with at least 4 layers of colored pencil to build dimension and blend colors together. It's a discipline. There is no CTL+Z or undo button. Linework takes an immense amount of concentration because line weight has a huge effect on the final product. I can't even quantify the amount of time this piece of art took to complete. It was a lot. If I had to estimate, I would say at least 100 hours from concept to complete matted and framed finish. Add to that the time to write about it and list to various sites.
