Deanna here! 🫶 I recently moved, and I wanted to make something a little special for my new neighbors, so I decided to try making Bánh Bò or "Honeycomb Cake" for the first time!
I really wanted to make something authentic, so I chose a recipe that uses real pandan leaves instead of extract. I had never worked with pandan before, so the whole process was completely new to me, from blending and straining the leaves to working with a batter unlike anything I’ve baked before.
It was definitely a learning experience, but it turned out so good, and I loved getting to make something thoughtful to share with the people around me. And of course, once it was baked, I had to figure out a cute way to package it too. 🎀
