i felt a bit nervous to post this because it's very vulnerable, but it's real and the message is important. i genuinely don't think i'd be alive if it weren't for the gym and choosing sobriety. it's crazy to think i've been fully sober for almost 4 years now... i've come a long way :,)
in this video, i refer to someone being concerned for me that someone was my mom. i'll never forget her face the night she had to physically hide alcohol from me in our own home. even though the love was still there, the trust was completely broken. substance abuse never just affects you... it ends up impacting everyone who loves you.
not only can you see the physical differences in myself, but more importantly, you can see the mental difference. sobriety didn't just save my life it gave me a life i actually enjoy living.

OVERCOMING COMPARISON +
i've struggled with comparison for as long as i can remember- not only physical, but mental as well. comparing my personality, my body, my career, my progress in the gym... ultimately every aspect of myself to others. the dangerous thing about comparison is that it rarely stops there; for me, it was the root cause of my eating disorder, depression, body dysmorphia, etc. it's important to remember that you're not meant to be exactly like someone else - you're not meant to have the same body, have the same personality, or live the same experiences. learning how to shift my mindset from comparison to appreciation changed everything. Instead of constantly tearing myself down, I began to show more gratitude towards myself and my body. I replaced jealousy with curiosity, swapping the phrase "why not me?" with "what can i learn from them?" it all comes down to your mindset and perspective. you can either constantly live in a negative state of comparison, OR you can learn to embrace who you are and learn from others in a
positive way. you deserve to feel proud of your
body, your story, and who you've become.
if you're currently struggling, this is a reminder that you are not alone. we all struggle with moments of comparison - but it's how you choose to react that makes all the difference. my DMs are always open
